ALMS Long Beach

Oh well...we finished 3rd....good job by Muller....getting an essentially "slow" M3 into that position....the RSR P-Cars are just too fast and the M3 could not close up on that Long Beach straight...though all in all not a bad showing...
as a side note if anyone was watching...especially you "Said Heads"...what a crazy event at the end...his C6-R Vette caught fire...INSIDE the cabin...he made it to the breakdown lane and jumped out of the car....just a little cooked

I'm sure ol' T Bone just hates to see the P-car RSR's keep winning; with their "old, outdated rear engine platforms". Before the ALMS season started, T BONE was VERY vocal about BMW M3 GTR's ruling the day; especially since it is a factory effort being managed by top Rahal team, and BMW's very best factory drivers.

Well, there's only ONE thing to say to T BONE: "Porsche. There is NO substitute". Besides, BMW has proved they long ago lost their way in factory racing efforts (same with their "M" street cars, IMO). BMW/Sauber is a Formula 1 joke; and their return to ALMS; even after years of M3 GTR development/testing, is proving to be mediocre, at best. Really sad.

I wish that they would broadcast the ALMS more often on T.V. I thought the 1.5-2 hrs of coverage was somewhat weak, especially since they would have 5 minutes of racing followed by 5 minutes of ads. Were you watching it on ABC or did you get it on another channel? As for the M3GTR, I thought that it did alright, but BMW still needs to work out some of the kinks that come with a new racing platform.

I agree ALMOST 100%....lol...especially since I am looking to go to the dark side...gotta love the flying lizards!!...lol..but those drivers are'nt factory drivers....in fact ONLY one of the drivers really is...Mr. Mueller...
Joey Hand is a very good driver probably has the most seat time in the M3 next to Bill Auberlen....Milner is the son of the former head of the BMW racing effort under PTG from 95 to 01/02(Tom Milner Sr.)....
the 'factory' guys were Jorg Mueller(Dirk's Bro)..Priaulx...Farfus...in the begining it was rumored they would be driving in the ALMS....alas only rumor...though I dont believe it is driver quality that the car is suffering from
