E39 HPDE Alternative.

I would like to pose a question for the other members who track their E39's. I love to do track days but sold my 01 beast because i honestly was scared of the price of damage and consumables. I bought a 01 Z06 Corvette and really enjoyed it on the track but was not a fan during weekend driving. I was hoping people could offer an opinion of what they think might be a fun car to drive at a HPDE but offers a bit lower consumable price tag all while offering something that is only flashy to they types of car people i care about. That was my favorite thing about the beast. The only people that tipped their hat really knew what it was and i didnt really get bothered too much. And please feel free to tell me that there just isnt something that meets all of the criteria.

Thanks
Rob

i am not sure you can find what you are looking for easily, but how about:
- nissan 350Z/Infinity G37 coupe
- cadillac cts-v
- modify a mustang.

they may be cheaper to beat/drive/maintain.

Thank you for the reply. I realize what i am asking for is pretty much an impossible request. I appreciate your insight. For now i think i am just going to tag along with my buddies to HPDE's and be the pit crew. I really dont mind i just think ive honestly been living beyond my means for a little too long. I would never be able to recover if i money shifted a s62. And although i know i should take a break for doing it until i can think of the right car i refuse to be away from the sounds and smells.

Any Mustang, Corvette, Nissan 350Z/240 or their family counterparts can fit the bill.
