Spa 24 hour GT race

7.004 km circuit of Spa Francorchamps in Belgium

The 61st edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa. Total first sponsored the race last year and the endurance race has been on the FIA GT Championship's schedule since 2001. Michelin, Pirelli, and Dunlop are competing this year. The past two years have seen GT1 battles go down to the wire.

Race to start at 16:00 (noon for ET ? as they are 6 hours ahead)

Current local time in Brussels - Belgium

Patrick Long will race in his fourth 24 hour race with both Richard Lietz and Raymond Narac with the # 76 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche. The three won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007. They raced at Spa last year and at Le Mans this year. The team will debut the new 4.0 liter engine.

I've changed my GT1 pick to the # 6 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R of Phoenix Carsport with drivers Mike Hezemans, Marcel Fässler, Jean-Denis Deletraz, Fabrizio Gollin and Michelin tires. The same drivers and car won last year's endurance race.

Thanks very much.......

Rickcoin, 'REALLY appreciate you posting all the info and links for live feeds and real time updates. 'Vast majority of folks on this forum aren't interested in FIA sports car endurance racing, because BMW isn't represented (shame on BMW for not fielding a car in ANY class) in this prestigious racing series.

Those Maserati's are simply incredible. I, for one, enjoy watching all marques compete in various road racing championships. BMW got their azz handed to them AGAIN in F1 today. 'Hope next years M3 GTR is at least competitive in ALMS; and whatever other series they decide to contest.

But I'm not holding my breath.

DRM,

With Rahal leading the way, I think the M3GTR has a nice chance of coming out of the gates fast. We'll see.
