This year's endurance race is expected to be the most intense since 1999. The race will mark the debut of the aerodynamic Dome S102 Judd and the college student-led Courage LC70 YGK of Tokai University - YGK Power. The former has Michelin tires while the latter has Yokohama tires. As in 2007, the leader lights will again be used at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Oh ya, two Porsche RS Spyders will race, one with Michelins and the other with Dunlops.

Franck Montagny : "We can still improve... you never know what Audi is up to."

Wednesday 11 June 2008 - 23h58

# 8 Peugeot Sport Total - 908

Franck Montagny, second fastest in the first qualifying session of Wednesday says: “We can still improve”.

Frank Montagny only failed by two tenth of a second to snatch the fastet lap from Stephane Sarrazin, already poleman 2007. The new track record for the 13.629km thus still stands for the #9 Peugeot 908 Hdi FAP at nearly 247 km/h. Here is what he tells us concerning the car he will share with Ricardo Zonta and Christian Klien during the race.

“I think that the current limit for us is around 3:16, my fastest lap was not entirely clear, and we could certainly optimize the tyre configuration, but track conditions were really very good, and the car was very well balanced. You never know what Audi is up to, so we continue to work towards the race.”

Our airfield events are completely safe based on years of experience, we conduct them during clear visibility with mature participants that have several years of experience with high-performance automobiles, large unobstructed run-off zones on sealed off private former military airbases and we clearly mark the braking zones. If inexperienced with high speed driving we do not recommend organizing your own event but attending a high-performance driving school.
