This Ruf 911 Turbo R was fast :grinyes: Ruf is Europes most well renowned Porsche tuner and I can see why... This example was converted at Ruf in Pfaffenhausen, Germany.

The 0-200 km/h is 11,8 s for the Turbo R accordign to Ruf, which is faster than the new 911 Turbo and almost Zonda-like performance. It is in fact between Ford GT (11,2 s) and Lamborghini Murcieolago LP640 (12,0 s). Auto Motor und Sport figures fro the Lambo and GT40, Ruf factory figures for the Turbo R.

The RUF has 490 hp and 650 Nm. How can 490 hp be more than the Z06?

According to RUF 0-100 km/h = 3.6 secs and 0-200 km/h in 11.8 secs.
Ok? As i rember it the owner of the RUF told me that his guess was that his car had 520 Hp? So what is wrong and what is right? Also 650 Nm on the RUF is still more than 637 Nm on the Z06. Got any official dyno results for this RUF?

Drag, Rolling Resistance and Frontal Area...... these variables are as important as HP / Torque with highspeeds....

Aerodynamic forces increases as a square of the speed, it is not linear and these forces become significant after 70 mph. So when you see Big ***** wings and huge air scoops on a car, that car is going to have a challenge getting up to really high speeds.

Here does a Ruf Turbo R traps in at a higher speed than the Carrera GT... Also, the 0-200 km/h is 11,8 s for the Turbo R, which is faster than the new 911 Turbo and almost Zonda-like performance. It is in fact between Ford GT (11,2 s) and Lamborghini Murcieolago LP640 (12,0 s). Auto Motor und Sport figures fro the Lambo and GT40, Ruf factory figures for the Turbo R.

As always...

This is great stuff Gustav.

As the current (and original) owner of a '97 911tt, I can tell you that they are brutal by modern day standards, and quite tame by earlier standards. This from one who's driven 911s for 30+ years, year-round. I never anteed up for a RUF -- probably should have though!
