Survey on Koni rear settings?

Selection of shocks is almost an order of magnitude more important than Eiback vs. HR in determing ride harshness and track performance.

I am looking at going to Koni's all-around. Given the...

I recently put 255/40-17 T1-S's all around on 8.5J ET13mm rims. Run Ireland 1.25* adjustable camber plates up front.

I get no rubbing front or rear which surprised me -- I had 3mm spacers all...

Memory seats

What switches/buttons exist to indicate whether an M5 has the 3
position memory power seats? These were optional on Canadian market cars. My '92 seems to have all the other Canada specific markings...

LubriMoly vs. Mobil1

Have always used Mobil 1 15W-50. Mechanic says LubriMoly is as least as good in all ways and maybe better. Experiences?

Cutting springs

I'm about to install camber plates and was thinking that while I have the struts down to take advantage and remove the stock front springs and cut half to a full coil.

Goal is primarily...

Well it was -28*C last night so I'm still thinking about this issue. But it looks like spring will be here in a few days along with camber plate and short shifter projects so I better wrap up my...

My mechanic installed the block heater in about 20 minutes. Works well. But the oil still takes forever to warm up.

Block heating

The -23*C this mornng got me thinking. All a block heater does is keep the engine parts somewhat warm but does little for what the real concern is, having pre-warmed oil in the pan for start-up.

To answer Ivan, I ran about 32psi on 225/50-16 same model tires on my E28 and road wear was good. Using that as a baseline, I thought adding a few psi would compensate for the extra 550lbs. weight...

Tire pressures for track and street

Owners manual recommends 38psi front and 41psi rear (cold) for a 235/45-17. This seems way too high so on the road I run around 34psi all around (cold). Haven't owned the M5 long enough to see if...
