Post FS: ALPINA B10 biturbo and BMW 3.0 CSL for sale

ALPINA B10 biturbo and BMW 3.0 CSL (E9) for sale!

One has to go, as a new toy is coming. Would rather prefer to sell the CSL than the biturbo.

Well maintained B10 biturbo for sale. German car, production-# 420, special-option colour “ALPINA-Blau” (dark-blue), no stripes/badges-option, optional ALPINA/RECARO buffalo-leather sportseats, el. sunroof, A/C and – for Gods sake - NO airbag.

I bought this ALPINA-masterpiece from its third owner in 2005 with 159.500km, fully serviced and accident-free to make it to my best and most favourite daily-driver I ever had. The car`s odometer actually reads approx. 195.000km, has been driven for long-distance-trips mostly and is in great and original condition. No Hillbilly-tuning-experiments!

This is a great chance, to get a biturbo in good shape, that has always been looked after and cared for: both turbos and engine-overhauling have been done at 144.500km at BMW, which can be proofed by invoice.
I personally gave the car only into the “magic-hands” of Sonneborn Automobiltechnik-owner Frank Sonneborn himself. He is a well known specialists for turbo-ALPINA`s in Germany. He also re-newed the cylinderhead-gasket (metal-type!), as my headgasket broke down this year, due to a non-moving alternator-bearing, which was really unlucky and annoying. Small cause, big effect! Invoice for this repair is available, too, of course. Services to my car had always been done as soon as Check-Control-System lighted up, so the service-book is still fully stamped.

As mentioned above, my biturbo is a daily driver and no trailer-queen. Therefore it is not in concours-condition, but nevertheless in very good shape by its outer appearance and in the probably best and most reliable technical condition you will find out there. The car has not even the smallest trace of rust, but some stone-nics at the front/windshield from autobahn-highspeeds. A front-spoiler / grille respray would satisfy the perfectionist.

New parts: frontbrake (discs/pads), headgasket (metal-type), all 4 tyres (wasn`t satisfied with the Michelin PS2 I bought new last year, so there are now Falken FK452 on it).

You will buy a unique, unbelievably fast and very much understatement car, of which had only 507 been produced. All sets of keys, ALPINA spare-wheel, fully-stamped servicebook, ALPINA owners-manual, ALPINA-repair-guide (hard to get!), all major repair-invoices and all German registration documents will go with the car. Of course this a non-smokers / no animals car!

Please feel free to contact me, but be aware that the car won`t go for less than 18.000,- EUR!

Details to the CSL:

A genuine CSL, build in 1972, VIN 2285028. Some years ago the car did get a complete rebuild in England, where it was brought to 1973 “Batmobile”-Look and correct white painting.

One of the pre-owners did install a glass-sunroof and converted the engine from 3-Litre-Injection to 3 Dellorto-twin-carburators with Pipercross air-filters, which was a very common conversion by the times, as ALPINA, BMW and SCHNITZER themselves also ran their racing-csl`s with twin-carburators. What shall I say, the sound that engine produces is incredible and in combination with the marvellous “Batmobile”-outfit and the genuine SCHEEL-seats your *** gets kicked back into times when racing was risky and sex was safe.

This is a fully drivable car which will proof its reliability at a 500km trip to this years worldfamous 24h-race at Nürburgring Nordschleife (only if theres no rain announced by weather-forecast!!!).

Of course, this is not a perfect concours car – you would pay about 70.000,- EUR for – but much more a nice survivour with some spots to work at: e.g. body-/paintwork, electric windows, rust in the spare-wheel-pan. Except the rust-hole in the spare-wheel-pan I couldn`t find another rust-hole. The car seems to be very solid by its metal. Overall this CSL has got a very perstine patina.

Shifting is very smooth, engine runs great and strong, very good road holding and this specific kind of charisma you usually cannot buy.

An eye-catcher are the marvellous 17”-BBS-split-rims, which are original BMW-parts. They measure 8” all around and wear 235/45-17”-tyres. This are two-pice-rims in nearly identical design to the classic BBS-rims used in the 70`s on the racing-csl`s.

If desired, you can get a set of original 7x14”-ALPINA-rims with the car, that by the way still got its aluminium bonnet and trunk-lid. The rims and the aluminium-parts are very rare and pretty expensive, if missing.

New parts: all water hoses and coolant-pipe, thermostat-housing, front-axle-wishbones (all genuine BMW-parts), engine-oil, oil-filter, spark-plugs.

This car was imported from England some years ago. All English documents as C5E and tax-stamps, owners-manual and correct 14”-ALPINA spare-wheel go with the car.

For a price of only 20.000,- EUR you get the incredible chance to own an automobile myth!

Both cars are located in Germany, near Dortmund.

Hi folks!

Well, what shall I say? This was a GREAT weekend! Down we went with the CSL from Dortmund south to 24h-race at worldfamous Nürburging which is about 400km / 250mls road distance.

Always a look at the sky hoping that it won`t start raining we were VERY lucky. Except 3 or 5 rain-drops it was dry all the way.

Just when we left Autobahn in the near of Nurburgring, the sun was shining all the rest of the trip.

We had a great weekend, without getting wet (it rained cats+dogs a few times) and the CSL was loved by the people on the Autobahn and the fans at the Nordschleife.

In the end we returned yesterday evening, the CSL did its way in perfect manner and without any problems or repairs. It starts and runs in hot/ cold and dry / wet conditions. Very satisfying was the average fuel-consumption of less than 13.5 Liter per 100km, which is in my opinion very good for a 35-year-old car with 3 twin-carburators and only a 4-speed-gear-box.

As I don`t want to bore you people waiting for pictures, I added the promised photographs to this post.

The pics are up to date, taken at June 9th/10th.

Feel free to ask any questions.
