2001 M5 Wanting a Good Home in UK

Im ready to let my M5 go.....sad as it seems....but I have had her since 2003 and would like to move on with my life and this car is getting too much attention!!!

Ok....a lot of history and a true gem of a car to a lucky person....if you are looking for an M5 and are willing to travel to south wales....read on!
My 2005 E39 has covered 85,000 miles and since I have had this car I have driven over 40k of the total mileage.

Exterior is Silverstone Blue, with a superb silverstone/black nappa immaculate leather interior with brushed aluminium trim. Black carperts and mint black carpet overmats fitted. Widescreen sat nav fully updated to latest software and television tuner fitted as standard....however I have chipped this to view the TV while vehicle is in motion! The mod also allows a DVD player to be linked to the AV input so you can watch movies on the move also.

The Hi-Fi has the BMW option of DSP audio, which is basically a graphic equalizer with room/echo options.
The Motorola V50 was recently replaced by BMW for a new genuine BMW firmware handset under warranty as the previous telephone system was giving me trouble.
Under the warranty cover during my ownership the car has had nearly £20,000 worth of work applied to it. To the best of my knowledge this includes a new clutch, twin vanos, mobile phone and amp, sat nav computer, water pump, headlamp (due to broken auto leveller), engine valves, oil pump. The oil pump, vanos, and valves were replaced when I reported the car to have a constant yellow engine warning lamp illuminated....this fault was hard to diagnose as the car drove fine.....however the car was with the dealer for a few weeks and the cylinder heads were removed and much work was completed to diagnose and cure this fault resulting in an M5 which drives amazing and consumes hardly no oil!! Very Rare!

My last spend on the car was to replace both mass airflow sensors as these forums have indicated that these items should be replaced at some point. Regardless of expense I have done this and imported the sensors from the US and have installed them to maximise performance and economy.

The alloy wheels are also brand new genuine e39 M5 and were replaced last year. These are in immaculate condition with excellent tread tyres fitted.

The next service due is an inspection one, the inspection two was done 2 years ago and as part of this service the M-Mobility tyre infaltor was replaced. The last service was an oil service and I am still seeing 3 green lights to indicate the next service is a while away.

All services are completed by main BMW dealers and are fully documented. Mot expires November 2007.

The car has a tracker fitted and the first aid kit is complete never used.

Parking sensors front and rear.

The vehicle and engine bay are constantly cleaned to maintain that look new image that I have sustained to achieve.

Factory fitted sun protection galss on all three rear windows.

This identical vehicle was used in the BMW short film featuring Madonna and Clive Owen, great looking car...thats why....especially in this colour/option!

What more can I say? The vehicle is a 2001 Y Plate and I have plenty of pictures taken last week I can email to anyone interested.

Six disc CD-Player as standard in the boot complete with Sat Nav drive supplied with latest map cd of UK.

Auto dimming mirrors (centre rear and folding side mirrors) tint when driving in dark conditions. Passenger side mirror also auto tilts downwards when in reverse.

It must be the cleanest and mechanically sound car in the UK.

Looking to sell for £17,500 ono.

Many Thanks for reading this....the first to see this car will buy I am quite sure of that.

Sounds like a beauty - I would add her to the for sale forum - probably have your best luck there.

You might want to put her on the UK site:

www.bm3w.co.uk

or

www.pistonheads.com

You will probably have a lot more exposure to UK buyers than here.

Why are you selling?

Also, can i ask what probs you had with the phone as I would like a flip with the BMW firmware on it??

David

You join the Board on the 1st of May and within two posts you are selling your car... are you a long time lurker?

Maybe you should read the rules and post in the correct forum in future.

I have been lurking around this forum for a year before setting up an account to be honest, before I discovered this forum I used a similar forum within Yahoo Groups, but that was a general e39 forum. Since joining this group I have replaced my BMW Maf's with VW Bosch units and have unleashed the maximum potential of my beast! And yes I am keen to sell my M5 to fund the purchase of a 2yr old E60 M5....So I am not going anywhere....I have the need to own a V10 now!!!

Really "Im ready to let my M5 go.....sad as it seems....but I have had her since 2003 and would like to move on with my life and this car is getting too much attention!!!"

You think that an E60 M5 won't get attention?
