Has anyone seen the $165k 2001 M5 on E-Bay?

Sounds like an incredible car, but $165k puts him in a whole different league of competition among used cars.

Way overpriced. the problem with putting serious money into tuning a car is that you cant expect to get it back when you sell it. I believe there has been debate on this specific car already on the board too.

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=90040 over here actually and before on an another thread.

outrageous price

I have rambled upon S3 pricing, but this guy thinks he can take a 30K car , add the full ( already too high) price of an S3 pack (70K) and somehow thinks he'll pull an additional 65k?

Oh and 0-60 in 3 secs? No way. Last time I checked , NY was still on the planet Earth, where they have the same laws of gravity as Holland. No way an 1800kilo sedan will have enough grip to do 0-60 in 3 sec.

Come on, that insane. You could buy a new E60 and a used GT3 with that..Or a used E60 and a used CSL..

I agree that $80k is probably tops for this car. However, an S3 would be an amazing beast to own.

However, if I had a spare $80k, I would buy this 2001 S3 without question versus $65k for a used 2006 M5. We all know an S3 would run circles around an e60 without breaking a sweat.

With that said, $165k is ridiculous.
