FS: 2002 BMW M5 Imola Red/Black Sport, 41,500mi, CPO'd

Hi All,

Well, I knew this day was going to come sooner or later. I'm selling my baby to make room for something with a 3rd row, which will probably mean an SUV of some sort. Anyhow, here are the details on my car:

-2002 model year
-41,500 miles as of 2/9/2007
-CPO/Full Maintenance expires on 2/20/2008 or 100k
-Full Sport Black Leather interior with Aluminum Trim
-PDC, M-Audio and Power Rear Sunshade
-Inspection II performed at 40,000 miles - dealership replaced the brake pads, rotors, plugs, belts, etc
-Front struts and bushings also replaced at 40,000 miles, still not sure whether they needed it but the dealership gave me a great deal and the car feels very buttoned-down now.
-New tires at 41,000 miles
-All four wheels replaced in 2005 via a customer pay/BMW "goodwill" deal due to the peeling finish on previous wheels. New wheels are shiny and pristine.
-Upgraded CD-based nav to DVD MKIV and loaded with recent software that allows 3D "perspective" mode views. I don't use the nav really but it looks neat. Map DVD version is 2006-2.

It's listed on AutoTrader and Craigslist for now. Asking price is $42,500 but for Board members $41,900. Please keep your pricing comments limited to PMs. I work for Edmunds.com - I know what the value of these vehicles at auction, wholesale, private party and retail. I also know it's a complete roll of the dice dealing with auctioned vehicles.

I have all service documents and trust me - it'll fill a large three-ring binder. But we all know that these vehicles require constant love and upkeep to keep them running top-notch. Personally I think the car runs better now than it ever has, thanks in a major way to the information exchanged on this very board.

Here are some photos:
(additional images available here)

(The instrument cluster was replaced under CPO warranty due to bad pixels - this one is about 2 months old)

The 3D view gives the NAV system a more contemporary look in my opinion.

No engine dressing or armor all needed - This baby is always kept clean with a rag and water - never soap, sprayed water or degreaser!

Please contact me at mlandish@edmunds.com if you have any questions.
Also feel free to IM me on AIM - my screen name is mland550. (please start your message asking your question instead of saying "Hi" since the spam message filter will nab it.) You can call me at 310-435-0574.

I would really like to see this car to go a member of this board because I know it will have a good home. I am extremely limiting of test drives unless you're a serious buyer - I don't even let valet guys drive it, I always park it myself, three miles from any other car!

Thanks for looking.
-Matt

Yep....

A pristine example in every way. I'll bet you'll miss her a lot, once she sells. Pricing is a bargain IMHO.

Good luck,

Dan

Thanks, Gents.
It will definitley be a sad say when I no longer hear that exhaust rumble in the morning. Thanks for the kind words.

The license plate is a media/press plate. The "PP" shield stands for "Press Photographer" and allows me to park in special areas during certain press or news events. Since I work in the automotive industry it's pretty much useless, but does have some benefits, like police officers rolling down their windows to ask ME what it means! Seriously that's happened at least half a dozen times. Always makes me smile.

GL with the sale but don't act like you care who buys it or of it has a good home. Most over used comment on the classifieds. Money talks.
