This is a drivers car that I have owned for 2.5 years and it has been phenominal. Just bought e60 M5 and must part with my beast. I have loved this car and dont want to see it go. ---Navigation--heated seats--foglights--sport seats----
Audio: Dension IPOD integration and 20gb IPOD included (works with steering wheel controls). JL audio 500/1 and 300/4 running 2 JL 10w2v3 and Morel 7" separates in front, signal is picked up by an Audiocontrol LC6
Drivetrain: Dinan stage one chip, TUBI mufflers with X pipe (TUBI's are the ones all the Ferrari's use), IATS relocation, ram air ducting with front brake ventilation, BMC airfilters, Denso Iridium plugs, Mobil 1 synthetic oil, performance friction brake pads, BFG KDW2 tires
Is the car still available?? Great looking car by the way. Worried a bit about the high miles. Seriously though, what type of issues should I expect from the car with these miles? I've got a 328i with 160k miles and a 530i with 130k miles with just basic maintenance and wear-n-tear stuff so I know these are built to last. Sorry for the concerns, just being cautious ;-). Also, does it have a shortshift kit installed??

Thanks!!
I think the costliest things to worry about on a high mileage car is Vannos and carbon buildup issues. As we all know, in general, the lower the miles the better.

Not too familiar with the V8's since I've only owned inline-6's but what specifically about the Vanos and carbon buildup should I worry about?? and approximate cost to address those issues. Sorry to hijack the thread, just concerned and being cautious.
This car is still for sale and price is becoming more negotiable, now $32,000, so give me call and come see it. 858-395-7571
These cars are certainly capable of running several hundred thousand miles.
I have had no issues with carbon build up or vanos. Runs perfectly. FYI; if a car has a carbon build-up issue there is a software fix.
The good thing about these boards is that all the issues M5's are out in the open and we all learn how best to deal with them. The bad news is that it makes M5's look like they are falling apart. I have an e60 M5 now and it has been running great.

Had a 540 with over 90,000 miles and this M5 with 80,000. I dont know if the v8 is more reliable or not but they are certainly more fun to drive and do not need to be driven as hard since they have more horsepower.
