Wanted: e39 M5 Carbon Black/Black Low miles near SoCal

I have been in love with BMWs for a while now. I owned a 1999 m3 vert, then I bought a 1997 M3 coupe and I have been modding that seriously for 5+ years. I also bought a 2005 325 for the wife.

Now it is time for my DD to be a e39 M5! Then all cars in the family will be BMW and two of them ///Ms.

I want carbon (or possibly jet) black with solid black interior. I understand there are more models with the wood grain trim and I am willing to go that route if the price is good...I will just change it to carbon fiber or black later.

Preferrably someone as close to San Diego as possible. I really don't want to have to cross more than one state east to get my beast.

Hi Cameron. I have the E36 Estoril M3 in Las Vegas. I purchased a used 2000 M5 back in March this year and have never looked back since. Welcome to the board.

RoninM5 is selling his car which is carbon black and has nice BBS LMs with lots of other goodies and he is in your neck of the woods I believe.

Here's the thread.

Hey how are you brother? I am so excited to get rid of my big urban assault vehicle(H2) and get a true M-lover's dream.

Ronin has exactly what I want. However his $46k firm is about $10k higher than what I want to pay. His car is beautiful and is worth $46k, I just need to wait for something that is lower. Thanks though!

How you liking your M5 compared to your M3? Your M3 is fully supercharged and everything. How do they compare?

The M3 is like a slingshot in that as the RPMs increase the toque immesifies to a point it's hard to keep focused vision. I was going to dyno the car this past weekend for the real results but ran in to a problem with strapping it down so I've got parts that will be on order shortly. Should be 400 to 410 rwhp from other cars with identical setup as mine. That's good enough for me.

The M5 is like a rocket in the low RPMs with a steady bang of power all the way up the band. Every gear feels great with 1st-4th being quite noticeable. 5th and 6th gear feel like nice overdrive gears.

I love both of them and the best thing is they are unique in their own way but still both at the heart of BMW motorsports quality and performance.

Every couple months or so I get back to Bimmerforums to see what your project car is doing. You have spent countless hours on that car. I thought my project was huge in that it took six months when in reality I'm finding the truely large upgrade projects generally take years.

Keep me posted on what you find. I'm here to help answer any questions you might have too. Just PM me and I'll give you my personal e-mail address and cell phone if you want to chat.

Tim.
