Isn't that Nick Lyford's old "Elekta", which Simon spotted recently?

http://www.bmwmregistry.com/detail.php?id=3515

AFAIK

-Munich Ledgends didn't import it, Mr. Lyford did from France where it had been quite a while
-It was offered for sale by ML august 2004 at GBP 15250,-, and refused an offer of 14k

Might be the finishing touch to the Baker collection.......... All it needs is a stripped M3GT on a trailer behind it!

"After an interesting call with an enthusiast and a little more research i have found that this M5 is 1 of only 20 ever made for the Italian market. It is called an "ELEKTA" and is number 19 of the 20 only ever made."

I know of a Euro 3.8 Touring in BRG over Tobacco here in the states, such a beautiful car in person.

Its supposed to be there as the engine ally parts that are not machined are raw & untreated from the casting process.
It will burn off eventually or you can use a hot air gun on the cast parts.

Unless there is a smear of oil or vaseline on the exposed parts, surface corrosion showing as a milky white dust that goes black when mixed with carbon deposits will be come evident.

However, most E34M5 dont seem to have a problem coating the engine compartment with an oily deposit so should not be a problem.
