Ok so I am about to take the plunge with a used dealer and feel I have a great deal worked out on a high 70k car but wanted to see if any board members were trading up or selling off a 2000. Color prefs would be anthracite/grey, carbon/grey or black, or black/black. Would much rather buy from a caring board member than a dealer but the car does look mint/new and drives flawlessly. Shoot me a message soon because this week is drop dead date for purchase looking to spend less than 26 or 27 as my purchase price is lower than that. Also prefer in the Northeast US to see in person but not opposed to travel for the right car plenty of frequent flyer miles.
Thanks,
Should be posting a lot more too Instead of lurking and reading
Well, I'm not in the NE but I have a 2000 Carbon Black on black M5 that meets your requirenments. My M5 is just under 70K and has had a great amount of TLC provided over the last year. I need to get ready for kid #4, and only have one kid hauler in the family. My M5 will need $33 for a new home but here is a short list of updates to the car:
replaced driver's side vanos at 60K
60K mile service done at 50K
new front brakes and rotors at 68K
new rear tires at 65K
Supersprint exhaust at 55K
removed resonator
navigation
just passed inspection for 2006 renewal
I have a modded beast for sale but not sure it is in your price range. Its silver with silver/black sport seats. Its about to roll over to 70k with 69.8k miles. Purchased from board member and was pampered then and now. Purchased a new home and can not keep the beast.

Thanks all, all very nice cars. I pulled the trigger and bought through the dealer, price was right and they're doing a new clutch and brakes so I couldn't turn it down. Look forward to catching up on my M5 knowledge, although it wont be the most powerful car in my stabe it will be the most refined that I can fit 5 people in.

Way I inquire as to the details of your purchase, also, did you look at any of the boston area cars for sale? If so, are there any you can recommend...or not bother with?
i second that i might buy one for that price range...just for spare ...
