WTB: M-Audio Subwoofers

Looking to get a cheap set of M-Audio subs (with OEM enclosure frame/box) as my intermediate subwoofer sound upgrade until I install a set of self powered JL subs come spring.

Anyone having these available please PM me.

just fyi, the baskets of the m-audio subs are the enclosure- there is no separating the frame and the speaker.

Thanks, fvicente. Even better I suppose, all is in one piece then and install should be easier.

Do you know if I will need a separate Amp for them since I do not have M-Audio?

Re: WTB: M-Audio Subwoofers

you can run them with the regular DSP amp, just disconnect the old sub and use those outputs.

My car didn't have the DSP to begin with, so I'm using an xtant 603x to power all the speakers in the car including 2 M-Audio subs.

Thanks for the info. I just upgraded all my speakers to MB Quart ones and already I got a great boost in sound. Adding the M-Audio woofers will only accentuate that, although come spring I am thinking of dropping either a single 12' or two 10' JL Audio subs (W6v2 probably). Those of course would need an amp (and enclosure since open air designs tend to compromise the bass a bit).

Re: WTB: M-Audio Subwoofers

Yanked both M Audio 10s and replaced w/a single JL 10w6v2 ProWedge. Powered w/JL 500/1 (pulls signal directly from factory sub harness). Also lined trunk w/Elemental Design's eDead.

HUGE improvement. Very happy. ~$800 upgrade.

Thanks, audemars - this is quite likely the setup I will be looking to do. BTW, do you have a custom enclosure for it, where was the single 10' sub mounted (ski sack perhaps)?

Is there any way to separate the M-audio speaker from their frame and use that as a base for say 2 JL audio 10s?

Re: WTB: M-Audio Subwoofers

Initial approach was to replace my M Subs with JL IB4s or Kicker c10s (using existing m-audio plastic frames).

After countless reviews and perusing the caraudio.com forum, decided on sealed. Absolutley no comparison to the sloppiness and rattles inherent to free-air (mounting directly to rear deck). I'm using a single JL ProWedge. Takes up very little trunk space and suprisingly light.
