Re: 02 CPO M5

I actually bought an AUDI S6 while I was trying to figure out stuff about my car. I need to get rid of one or the other. Which ever brings a better offer sooner.

After I got the car it spun a rod. BMW said bad bearing and covered it under warranty. I had aluminium flywheel. BMW put in a new tranny and the original flywheel that I had in it. Car is pretty much in new condition. Extended warranty still is valid but the car is under basic warranty. Break in period had been observed and still is. Have not reved the car over 4500 rpm and even that maybe 2 times. Very careful with the car. Need to do the 1200 mile service on it and even after that I or whoever shall have should be careful to 3000 miles. Car should last with the new engine and tranny. Wheels are HRE and tires are new. IT has NAV TV and HID Xenon Fogs. Runs very smooth. DINAN intakes. Might have to sell the parts separate at the price I am offering the car. Have another car and have to get rid of this one or the orher. Pictures are on Autotrader.com. zip code is 30097. listed as private seller. Car has never been to drag strip or track. Car has never been raced anywhere. I did drive it a little fast after I got it but on freeways. Only drove it 4 times befire the rod bearing spun. And that was to get the modifications done. CHanged the clutch before the engine went bad. New cluth with rogue tranny mounts and SSK. Car shifts wonderful with the SSK. Black extended leather. Will keep if I sell my other car which is an AUDI S6 in mint condition. Black on Black 2002 with 36000 miles for 33999 and still under basic factory warranty.

Wow, sounds like you've got a basically new M5 and your price sounds very reasonable. I know you're not asking for advice but we also have both an M5 and 2002 S6 (wife's car) and while the S6 is okay, it's nowhere near as much fun as the M5! In fact, the S6 is quite the pig by comparision. Keep the M5!!

Actually, on the other hand, maybe WE should sell our S6 and pick up your M5... wonder if I can convince my wife to drive a 6 spd...

Believe it or not I have H&R fronts on the M5 and H&R all round the S6, and the handling of the S6 is too good. I mean the car handles so good that the M5 feels like an elephant on curves. I have not even put the RS6 replica wheels that I want for that car. Bigger paw will mean greater grip around curves. The S6 has a Milltek exhaust and I have a cone filter that I can throw on it. Not the power of an M5 but will run with most cars easily. Also drove an E55 and that car is sick. Handling is not there at all and the car feels big around the bends, although sticks well because of the tires. Straight line acceleration is that of a mustang but quicker. I am just not into the BMW quality anymore although I have great respect for them covering the car in warranty and keeping the CPO status. I have had very good luck with their service so far and if I keep the M5, that will be a major factor.
