Carbon black 2003 M5, loaded with every factory option except for the wood trim. This includes the power rear sunshade, M-audio package with twin subwoofers, fold down rear seat with pass through, park distance control, tape deck (yeah it's an option on this car), sunroof, and all the standard goodies like the nav system, power heated leather seats with memory, climate control, rain sensing wipers, 6-speed manual transmission, etc. Also I've added a 20% tint all around (black with black interior gets hot) and an auxiliary in port for an iPod or any other audio. Comes with newish Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. California car, located in the LA area. Never seen snow, rarely seen rain.
Nice car. If you've lurked for a while, you know what 03 pricing should be.
One thought- you might not make MORE on the deal, but this would be a tremendous 'leg up' on the market: work with a local BMW dealer so that they would CPO the car as part of a sales transaction. Strictly speaking, they can't cpo it for you, nor for someone who has already bought it- but they can 'buy it from you, cpo it, sell it to another'. If you come to them with a 'done deal' and all they need to do is paperwork, you miight get it done for $1300 for the cpo plus 500- 700 for their 'trouble'.
Many buyers value the cpo above and beyond that 2k.
Well, I'm open to negotiations, and I'm in no rush to sell the car...just a feeler at the moment. If anyone has any offers, I'm all ears. Hadn't thought about that CPO (certified pre-owned, right?) thing before, thanks for the advice.
FYI, in Oct. 04, I bought from a dealer an '03 CB with all options (luxury interior, i.e., no shades) and 14k on the clock. It was CPO'd with the extended warranty expiring 4/07 and got them to add the extended maintenance to the same date for $847.50. This made the total vehicle cost $62,847.50.
Moral: There's a lot of fluff in CPO pricing!! Good luck. 5driver
Car was bought in April 2003, 3 year warranty so...um *carries the one*...the warranty expires in April 2006. I have all service records.
* * * CORRECTION * * *
Sorry to correct you ... BUT ... Here's the Good NEWS ! ! !
Your CB 2003 is just like my CB 2003 and they BOTH came with 4 year/50,000 Mile Factory Warranty, whichever occurs first. Your warranty will be good till April 2007 and NOT April 2006 as you stated above.
Of ALL the lo-mileage (less than 20K) '02 and '03's I've seen for sale in the last
6 months or so, I'd say that your pricing is in the ballpark.
You can always drop your price ... BUT you can never ask for more!

I, too, must correct my late night rambling. Both warranties are for 6 yrs. or 100k. Ergo, they expire 4/09.
Most important selling feature of the '03 over the '02, in my opinion, is the warranty. Your car has a 4 year warranty on BOTH service and maintenance. That's the biggie. '02 and prior only have 3 year warranties for scheduled maintenance. The DVD nav is second. No other differences that I'm aware of.
Since when did a tape player become an option? That's news to me.
