Is there a Password and Username for Manheim.com??
Yeah.
and it is really hard to get one-
Folks that have them buy cars- if their password gets out they loose the access... you need a car resale license (and a bona fide business) to get one.
i sent back an email asking what the fees were on top of the purchase price, heres what he wrote back
All fee(s) combined about $1000 - $1200 which also includes transportation of the car back to NY. You pay your own taxes at DMV, we can also store the car if you need a couple of days.No matter how you slice it with fees and all the most you'll pay is wholesale tops, but most of the time it's a little less than that, this model is top of the line....top shelf stuff here.
If I were doing this, either they'd own it until I inspected and purchased OR I'd got to the auction with my own mechanic.
Seems like even THEY don't know anything about the car- I assume they're just seeing the Mannheim listing- is there an inspection process??
All cars go through an inspection process. I buy cars at Manheims Auto Auctions all the time. The only way you can arbitrate a car is if it has un-announced frame damage, flood damage, etc. There are other ways to get it arbitrated, but it's a PITA.

This was actually a local trade-in at our Audi store.....they bought an A8 from us and traded the M5. It looks as if it was just a poor paint job......not really any structural damage. We just don't want the hassle even though it would qualify for certification because it is an M5. I will get back to you on price......it'll be $1000 over trade-in value and that will include a full detail.
THis was a while ago...
I never saw it- ask he said "not REALLY any structural damage" just a bad paint job..
ask and yee shall receive:... We own it for 57,750 and will sell for 58,750. Otherwise we have a truck coming tonight and plan on taking it to auction. Let me know if you want to see it:

Appreciate the info and quick response! That really explains why it's not selling for anything close to what they say they have in it. But at least they're honest since they did take it to the auction. The "poor paint job" is extremly damaging and even at $1,000 above trade-in value it wouldn't make sense IMO. Just because a dealer or a wholesaler overpays for something, you shouldn't have to. Thanks again, will continue my search for more of the top shelf '01-'03 M5's locally, preferably private party ones with perfect histories...
