Thanks for looking and this is a long ad --
I am a long time browser but recent member of this board. I have been seriously contemplating purchasing an E39 M5. For my needs, it makes more sense. Right now, all of my cars are coupes. I have another E36 M3 and an SC400. I would prefer to have something with four doors and more room. The SC400 is not a performance vehicle -- no matter what SC400 owners will say

. Plus, has any of you ever looked at the SC400's trunk?
I am offering up for sale a pristine condition 1999 E36 M3. Everyone that has seen it will tell you, it is meticulously cared for. I am a professional and work in downtown D.C.
I am not selling it because there is anything wrong with it, in fact, it's the opposite. I would like to sell it now where I can confidently give the keys to someone and state: It's in incredible condition and not have the words represent mere puffery. It has the Active Autowerkes Stage II or stage 2.5, whatever they call the turbo on there. Yes, Karl has the documentation and everything for my car. Titanium silver exterior with black leather interior.
The car itself has around 46K miles on it. The kit itself has around 25K miles on it. I've never experienced any problems with it. I am
FANATICAL about the maintenance on this car. I can show you the receipts just from this past year.
You are also welcome to speak to my mechanic whom also is an authorized AA dealer and installer. He has inspected this vehicle from top to bottom just in the past couple of weeks. I
did not spare any expense on this vehicle or cut any corners.
I also have so many **** parts for the car it's not funny. The price for this car is:
$37,000. It seems fair since E36 1999 M3's go for around $28-33K. I am not asking that much for everything you are getting.
People always say, don't purchase a used force inducted car. It's been abused. B.S. -- my car is in better shape than 99% of the NA ones out there.
Items on the car:
1) Active Autowerkes stage II turbo

I've replaced the entire clutch system, the entire cooling system, and have checked EVERYTHING ... I mean from compression/leak tests, down to the fuel return lines ... I even replaced the microfilter. You will not need to have anything done for a LONG LONG time. WHY? Like I said, I am fanatical about maintenance. I would rather spend $5K in preventive maintenance than $10K for an engine rebuild. Most people forget ancillary parts when upgrading their vehicles -- I did not make that mistake.

28) 2 complete sets of Axxis Ultimate brake pads (I mean complete set, all four corners)
29) Billetwerks (all 4 of the caps in anondized blue)
30) I have miscellaneous extra parts lying around as well ...
Daily -- I leave the boost setting on 6.5 lbs (lo-boost) = 322 rwhp and 297 ft*lbs of torque. From what Karl and my mechanic tell me, this car has an EXTREMELY strong engine. My dyno's were not from a dynojet, so the numbers are not inflated. I'm ultra-careful with the car: reliability was the most important aspect of this setup. I would sacrifice power for a more reliable system. Hi-boost is around 12-13 psi. However, only my mechanic has driven with it on hi-boost and he scared the bejesus out of me. I feel fine with lo-boost.
Condition of Vehicle:
Honestly, I would rate this car a 9.5/10. I am not rating it a 10 since it is a used vehicle. However, anyone that has seen my engine/vehicle, will tell you it glows. You can friggin' EAT OFF the engine: it really is that clean. I use BG MOA, BG 44K, etc products on it. The paint feels like glass -- smooth as butter.
You need nothing for this car. If you "might" need something, it's been replaced, or I have the extra part. E.g., I have an extra AA rear control arm, 2 sets of brand new brake pads, 4 brand new tires, so many rims you can't carry them all.
Please feel free to speak with my mechanic, Pat Bissett or David (301) 519-0908 at pro-imports or email David at
info@pro-imports.com with any questions you might have.
Alternatively, please email or contact me: (202) 320-3821 with any questions you might have. If you need additional pictures, please let me know and I can take them.
If you were to try and build this car --- you would spend AT LEAST $30K. My price is fair. I realize modifications "can" decrease the value of the car. However, if you are smart, you know that there are some individuals out there that are fanatical about their cars. I am one of them. All of my cars are maintained in similar fashion.
You can read more about the turbo kit from:

Thanks again,
James
P.S. -- If you were wondering, this car is definitely faster than the E39 M5. I am talking
bus-lengths faster.
