didn't you get the car not too long ago?
Young,
I got the car on December 4, 2002, so it's about 10 months. I'm also sorry to see it go as it's a great little fun car, but I need to make room for future toys.
We have 5 cars now, and only 4 garages. The Mrs. will be a very unhappy camper if I propose a 6th. Smart move is to get the number down first, ergo this thread.
I drove Pong's Miata and it was great fun. The Miata offers a lot of bang for the buck. Put the roof down and enjoy burn-out after burn-out. This Miata is a well kept and very clean example. Something that should not be passed up if you want one of the nicest Miatas available.
Thanks for your kind words. I also have to thank you for introducing me to the virtues of the Miata. At that time, I was only considering either the M Coupe or the Boxster. You told me about the Miata. Knowing the cars that you have owned, that was a very lofty recommendation indeed.
Sure enough, the Miata is a bomb. I had huge fun with it on Woodside Road, PCH, and lots of country twisties in the Santa Cruz, Los Gatos Mountains. Being a fly-weight, the car corners like it was on rails, and 205 HP is a huge surprise to many unsuspecting motorists, mistaking the car as a harmless little Miata.
as some of you recall, she was being rather snotty and dying and/or refusing to start up. with the new fuel pump and MAF she is PERFECT, though im not used to having to give gas a bit before popping the clutch to really take off from standing [my car isnt so picky about it]. but thats really me and not the car. so yes. i took her out last night, driving freeway and twisties, and she is still incredible. DEFINITELY worth looking into.
[end shameless plug]
now someone needs to help me convince dad that its perfectly alright for me to drive the M5 also.. AND the potentially coming replacement car.
Another shameless plug from yours truly. I also had the chance to drive this monster of a Miata too and I can testify to its effectiveness in inducing a smile! I couldn't stop smiling the whole time I was driving her through the tight switchback twisties on the last Norcal M5 drive. The only thing that it lacks however is the freeway cruising abilities in which the M5 excels. It's downright scary on the freeways! I've got a couple of bumps on my noggin to prove it.
Definitely worth taking a look at!
