well, first I ever heard of this - - "I should note - because of the Eisenmann exhaust, the car registers a false exhaust error code..."

Yep, reduced price and reserve now though.

Yep, get a cat code - had dealer replace cats under warranty - still get cat code. Passes emissions fine.

If I understand this correctly, he wants $30K for a car that has a check engine light? Or did I misinterpret something?

Haha, you got me! The cat code actually reads "vehicle explosion pending" -- watch out for that lemon!

Just FYI, a car with a check engine light on will not pass smog in NYC; no matter what the actual emissions are. I fault in the emissions monitoring system is an automatic fail.

If both cats were replaced, did they check the post cat o2 sensors? Its a cheap and easy fix. May be all that you need to do.

GL with the sale; shes a beauty. Id be all over it, but my 03 540 isnt going anywhere for the near future.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with auctioning something with a hidden reserve and buy-it-now price - good to know however that you'd price a different car differently. That is useful information, thanks!
