2001 740i Sport

Anyone here selling, or konw of anyone selling an 01 740i Sport? I have been searching every night, but still no luck.

I went to check one out close by at a Volvo dealer, boy was that a nightmare. The car looked good, but the 16:9 Nav had gone out on it, and they were not willing to replace it. In fact, the salesman told me to go get an aftermarket stereo that had a pop out screen. Needless to say I walked out right then and there.

Thanks guys!

Of course you realize that this is an M5 board, right? This is the car you need: 2001 740 sport

How hard was that?

Hey, try Bimmerfest and other less specific BMW forums, you'll find one.

However, I will warn you, the E38 maintenance nightmare that you are about to embark on makes an E39 look like a Toyota.

740i Sport Great Cars!

Have two 740i's one with 78'000, 0n clock ( wifes car daily driver ) the other with 51'000 on clock, both are great cars and fun to drive, most problems Radiator, Expansion Tank, P/S Hoses, window regulators. If you can find one that has all records and was a CPO car and maintained well. It took me a year to find second car it had 42,000 on clock two years ago so be patient and you will find one with low mileage and not $30,000 as the collector in CA has.BMW dealer can run records from VIN and check for records if servived @ BMW. Both cars are great, purchased aftermarket warranties from easycare, wife's car need aux water pump, clutch fan, valve cover gaskets and windshield washer pump all covered under easycare so it paid for it self already. Check out Bimmerboard.com. E-38 series and read you'll find all your answers there, these boys know there stuff. Have to say that 740i has no more maintenance issue's than my 02 M5. Have easycare warranty on it also, and @ 48,000 miles the M had $3200.00 in issues done and easycare ate that one two except for $100.00 deductible,so it paid for itself so far. Good Luck if you need more info e-mail me or I happen to see one I'll e-mail you. Regards, Gene

Michael

I saw the practically new 740 but it's a tad too pricey for me. And yes I understand this forum being m5 specific, but been here a while and value our members opinions and help. Cheers!

Thanks Gene! If you run across a beauty that has been well maintained please let me know. Of course not outlandishly priced would be great, and the 16:9 nav screen is a must.

You want my .02?

Too bad you getting it anyway

Keep driving the daily rocket you have, and stay patient for a clean 02 or 03 Beast to put back in the garage

No need to thank me buddy

Hahahaha you are wise beyond your years buddy, but this car wouldn't be for me, its for the wifey. And since I may have to drive it sometimes, It's best that she doesn't own a minivan. I think I may be allergic to minivans. LOL
