FS: essentially new E39 M5 Borla Cat-back Exhaust

I am selling the Borla catback that I received for my E39 M5 last Wednesday. I was looking for a loud exhaust for my M5, and the Borla is more of a civilized note similar to the Dinan exhaust that I previously had on my M5. I am just going to run straight pipes now, so this exhaust is for sale. Literally a week old and maybe run on the car for a few hours. The fitment is great and required no tweaks, quality is great as well - it is just not loud enough for my taste.

Since becoming a member here I have sold two things in the past month or so with great feedback. I paid $1600 and some change from Turner Motorsports. Looking for $1,100 shipped.

Not having an x-pipe has been your problem from the start. I know what you are trying to accomplish but if you just get an x-pipe it will sound much better. IMHO straight pipe isnt going to sound all that great and you are going to get a lot of droning in the car.

I have the Dinan exhaust with an SS x-pipe and it sounds mean. Trust me I know what sound you want. Do yourself a favor and buy an ss x-pipe and the exhaust tone will change to what you are looking for.

I'm all about loud cars too...hell my 1967 Firebird sounds like a freakin dragster. On my M5 I have the Eisenmann exhaust with x pipe and it is pretty damn loud, I would think you would be happy with it. The stock resonator quiets it down quite a bit.

Just for comparison, here is my car before x pipe:
2001 BMW M5 Eisenmann exhaust- Video

And here it is with the x pipe:
2001 BMW M5 Eisenmann exhaust SuperSprint X-pipe- Video

So like the others i highly recommend trying the x pipe before you go straight pipe.

FYI....The Borla CAT-Back has an x-Pipe...

+1 on the loud drone you will probably have with straight pipes
