As a data point, I added Dinan big MAF housings with advanced PC software and no changes to the software. You can't tell any difference at lower speeds, at higher speeds there is some benefit, but it is not optimized.
So if anyone is interested in the MAF housings, no harm if you don't currently upgrade your software, bigger benefit if you do.
