thinking of selling, 00 M5, well sorted

I keep going back and forth over this, but i'm thinking of selling my e39 M5. I'm the second owner, purchased as a cpo in mid 03 at weatherford bmw in berkeley. Car is essentially a dinan s2, with the exception of supersprint headers (wasn't originally going to go down the dinan road, but eventually became dissatisfied with other mods). Currently at 107k miles, probably closer to 108k.

It also has dinan cams, and dinan in morgan hill ported the heads, they also did custom software at that time to bring it all together. At that time (72k miles) they also cleaned out the secondary smog ports (which were about 15% blocked). Dinan has done the majority of the mods on the car, besides the headers, which were installed by discovery automotive. Car has dyno'd 400hp at the wheels by edge motorwerks in dublin, without any big fans or fancy airflow.

Car is a 6/00 production car, so newer piston ring design, little oil use. It's had one vanos replaced back at 45k miles while under warranty (dealer was chasing a ses light, which ultimately turned out to be mafs). I'll post some pics tonight, most stuff is listed in my sig, the car has been meticulously maintained with no expenses spared. For someone looking for a well sorted M5, with all of the mods that really work, this is the car. I'd like to get $25k for it. I went out and drove a new m3 (second time) and really fell for the car, my dealer has a bare bones car, no idrive, no sunroof, that's calling my name, and my wife won't let me have 3 cars!

only issue with it right now is the rearview mirror, the electrochromatic goo has failed, i've got the form to get the new mirror for $75, just haven't been motivated enough to do it yet.

Great! weather and early darkness have not been cooperating for pics, will get a few this weekend, but it looks like most other silver m5's with dinan wheels and the usual updates!
May see what the dealer would give me on trade in just for grins. i'm not a patient person when it comes to buying and selling.

to answer the question above, if i do an m3, it'd be a sedan. I drove an option loaded one a few months ago, and didn't come away that impressed, but this striped base model just felt so pure. I've been going back and forth over selling for nearly a year, i usually get bored with a car after 2-3 years, this car has really held my interest for double that.

i haven't looked at options, etc. on the new cars - what does the regular model have vs. a stripped down one?

for some reason i was thinking they came pretty well loaded and that there weren't that many options to be had(i.e. - not really anything to be deleted from the car).

good luck selling yours.
