One another note, sometime I don't understand people.
I am sure a lot of people have viewed this ads but I am just surprised no one grab this beautiful car yet.
Yet, I've seen some car has been sold even with condition much less than this car . I just don't get it.
I understand that I'm charging a bit of a premium for this car given its condition, but people also need to realize a few things:
- The price is always negotiable. The worst that could happen is you could make an offer and I could decline.
- To be perfectly frank, if paying $1-2k extra for an M5 is a dealbreaker, you probably shouldn't own an M5. In the event that an M5 does require nonroutine maintenance, it's not cheap. If a thousand or two thousand dollars is going to break your bank...
- The condition of this car is outstanding. Phenomenal. Some people would rather "take a chance", so to speak, on an M5 that has no history, or needs a host of "little things" to bring it up to snuff. That's their perogative, but I'm hoping to find a buyer that wants a car that he or she can get in and drive, or park in their garage-mahal and admire. This car isn't what you'd call a "project car".
Anyhow, those are just some ramblings from a guy who's had his car for sale for almost 4 months.

Ben,
You remind me of a guy that had a 2001 for sale on the board last year. I was thinking of buying his car... he had listed it for sale for something like 4 or 5 months, kept lowering the price every month. We spoke on the phone, I was arranging a PPI, but we were about $1500 apart. I just couldn't make that leap, not for that car. Sometimes a little bit of money like that can break the deal. He did end up selling the car for what he wanted, to a local guy, but it just took him forever.
So, you just need to be patient. Not too many people out there, especially this time of year with the stock market doing what it's doing, looking for a car like yours. Keep the autotrader and cars.com ads going, maybe let this thread die and in a couple of weeks start a new one. Some potential buyers might be put off by the fact that it has been this long on the market. You never know.
Michael

In real estate, there is traditionally not a lot of activity from Xmas until after the SuperBowl. Plus, with today's current economic uncertainty, it's gotta be a bit slow out there for everyone, new and used car sellers alike.

But, if you are simply not getting many "showings" then it is likely that the price may be an issue. People have to be enticed to see something before they buy it. Most people like to think they are getting a deal. I have seen your car and know that is in the top 5% of M5's, but other prospective buyers may not have seen it. If people are not coming, then you might consider lowering your price. It's up to you. Just trying to offer suggestions, for all I know, people could be actively looking at your car and I could be off base - so just a guess.
and not pressuring you on price at all but i do have a colleague at work that was hoping to buy mine but might still be looking, and is very price sensitive. not sure i can get him off square one but might be worth a try if you decide to move.
