The car is beautifully stock except:- 20% tint (see pictures - I think it is the perfect shade)
- K40 radar detector installed in dash by previous owner - this also has the laser detector
Some Particulars:- 45,600 miles
- Excellent condition
- I am the 2nd owner
I have owned her since May of 2005 - she had 19,236 miles on the clock at the time and was still wearing the original Michelin Pilots, which were wore surprisingly even. The car was sold to her 1st owner in New York in December of 2001 - I don't know much about this owner - his name was Joel.
I purchased the car from Rocky Mountain Eurosport who took the car in on trade from the 1st owner when he moved to Denver (he bought a Cayenne turbo for mountain driving). I drove 8 other M5s before purchasing this one and this car was by far the best of the 8 - I fell in love with the car because it was the only one I drove that felt "new". You will see what I mean if you come see the car in person and drive her. BTW, I am 52 years old and I baby my cars - consequently, she still has that "new", unmolested feel. The car pulls very hard and is as stable as a rock at all speeds I have ever driven her! Handling and performance is tight and strong - no disappointments.
I had the car thoroughly inspected by Autoworks (an excellent BMW specialist shop here in Denver) prior to purchase. They gave the car the "thumbs up" at the time and they have performed all of the routine service work. Autoworks can also vouch for the car's current condition as well. I can furnish their contact info.
There are a few of the Denver club members who have also seen my car (as recent as last Summer) and can vouch for it's condition - MPRESIV for one.
Recent service history- Castrol 20w60 used exclusively (per sticker under hood) and changed every 5,000 miles. The car only uses .3 to .5 quarts of oil between oil changes.
- New Michelin PS2s on since 32,000 miles - they still look pretty good - I think they are good for at least another 10,000 miles (see pics)
- March 2006 - Inspection I performed - at 30,000 miles
- May 2006 - 32,000 miles - new VW MAFS and left bank cam sensor (New MAFS made a noticeable difference)
- I have a set of Pirelli snow tires that have seen about 2,000 miles use (by the way, they work quite nicely). Until this past winter I drove an 89 325IS in the winter and we also have an MDX so the M5 hasn't seen much winter driving - if you see the car in person you can tell.
Last Fall I scraped the right front under-bumper a little pulling into a parking lot and tore loose the lower corner edge bumper molding. Next time I washed the car, upon close examination of the bumper cover I could see a hairline thick vertical split about 3/4 inch long. And, this Spring I came out of a restaurant and someone had (apparently) backed into my trunk placing a dent about the size of my fist just to the left of the rear license plate (not really fixable without replacing the trunk lid). So, I recently had Stuttgart Auto Body (Denver) make both of these repairs and it turned out beautifully - new front bumper cover with two new sparkly clear fog lights and a new trunk lid. I don't know if you can tell the quality of their work from the pics, but Stuttgart is a top quality shop working only on BMW, Mercedes and Porsche - I am very pleased with the work. I of course have the receipts from this work.
Other Comments:
I am only selling because I need to get rid of a car payment for a couple of years.
I have owned 6 BMWs including this one - although I have loved them all (particularly the M3), the M5 is undeniably the Queen of them all! The M5 is simply the most fantastic car I have ever owned. What else can I say - the car has exceeded all of my expectations several times over. It has been remarkable in every way.
And, one last thing
The M5board is simply the best online forum I have ever participated in - the knowledge and enjoyment shared among all of you has been simply wonderful. Thanks to everyone. I am pretty sure I will be back in the M5 owner ranks again sometime.
