Welcome as a new member to M5BOARD.com M6BOARD.com. This is an active Messagboard which is closely moderated, so please behave and post well thought-out posts. Quality instead of quantity is the motto. A good way to introduce yourself is to post details about your M5 by clicking here (right click on the link to open in a new window) and what you do for a living by clicking on this link (right click on the link to open in a new window). < /b> We have BMW M owners and other exotic owners from all generations from all over the world registered. Even from countries like Singapore, Iceland, Bahrain and alot of other countries. There are owners of unique Individual M cars as well as highly modified Ms. You can use the Private Messaging system to get in contact with fellow car enthusiasts. You must have reached a certain number of posted messages in order to be able to send Private Messages. This is so we can get to know you better. Please do a search before you post a question to minimize redundant information. Most importantly, enjoy your sportscar among friends @ M5BOARD.com that share a common interest: fast cars! Your new member application will now be reviewed and you will be granted by us usually within a day. Leaders and members of other boards, commercial sites / meets and enthusiast sites are also welcome to participate on the m5board.com Messageboard and use its many features with full privileges. However, as with non-supporting vendors, we also request that you not advertise or promote your board or commercial events in any way. If it is obvious that your photograph / video watermarks are intended to promote a non sponsoring commercial business, another forum, or they are a URL for a point of sale the images will be removed or replaced by neutral ones. Please contact sales@autoguide.com for advertising inquiries. Those members who would like to promote a commercial business with photographs will have to become a board sponsor.

There is a predefined pictures of M5s in all production colours you can use next to your posts. For networking purposes -if you own your own company which not is a competitor to any of the M5 Messageboard's Sponsors- you can have Your company's logo as an "avatar" next to your posts. E-mail sales@autoguide.com for further info.

You may not post any commercial messages on the Messageboard. For example solicitation of business in posts, business contact information, use of corporate logos, signatures with member's corporate information, number, description of work offered and corporate logos or graphic images.

As a sponsor you have the right to have a banner, start group buys and interact with the members. You can also have your company's logo next to your posts (avatar) if you are a sponsor.

Group buys can only be offered on sponsoring vendors products with one exception: there can be ONE "group buy" per company ONCE from non-sponsoring companies in order to maximize the use of an M5-owners community without eroding the loyalty of existing sponsors. Anyone can start a group buy and that has to be done in the Group Buy Forum that is a sub-forum of the E39 M5 Forum. The sponsors are allowed to REPLY to any topic in the E39 M5 Forum but cannot start new commercial threads in the E39 M5 Forum. That has to be done in the Group Buy Forum. Sponsors are however welcome to post non-commercial messages in any Forum.

Summary of the Group Buy Rules:

1. Group Buys are exclusively for sponsors of the site, exception see rule 2

2. There can be one group buy ONCE per non-sponsoring company to use the power of a niched audience as M5 owners.

As more owners join and as more visitors we get we still have to maintain a quality and a camaraderie among the members. To enforce the quality and of mutual respect between members of different nationalities, religions, car brands there exist the following rules. Zero tolerance policy towards:

* Flaming, when a post get out of hand because of members start to argue on a public forum will not be allowed. Solve this via Private Messaging or e-mail, do not escalate it by replying on this forum.

* No name calling to fellow members. In a humorous way yes, but never in a degrading way towards the other member. Best way is to report a post and tell us (a site moderator / admin) about it and the post will be removed. Do not reply in the same way as the flamer, it will then escalate quickly.

* Posts that are deliberately posted to stir up trouble will be deleted

* Well thought-out posting is encouraged. The better you state your post, question or reply the better feedback you will get. Also the more appreciated you will get among fellow members. Exactly the opposite with bad thought out posts.

* When you made your point and the other party made his point, please do not escalate it to a never ending heated discussion. Always remain civil as you are in your everyday life.

If anyone breaches this the member status will be removed (he cannot post) and it will be put back to Member status only after the member have initiated a discussion with me over e-mail and we agreed on what was wrong and what is to be changed in the users behaviour in the future. It is the member who is responsible for contacting me. Pictures and videos that are uploaded on m5board.com could be re-posted on m5board.com. The picture owner still has the ultimate copyright of the picture. Photos posted and hosted on M5Board shall automatically grant a non-exclusive copyright to M5board.com. You are not allowed to share your Private Messages online without consent of the originator. What are the vendor guidelines? 1. As a vendor, you are a business first and foremost, and a user/individual second. Take this into consideration with every post and any other correspondence you make with any individual on the forum. 2. Do not make any comments regarding another vendor, or any products they carry, unless it is positive (i.e. Nice product) 3. Please do not abuse your position as a sponsor. Be it in the creation of threads to promote your products in the general areas. This means you may post/start threads in the technical area, but to avoid directly soliciting sales from them. 4. Do not enlist any user to hype about your product or services for discounts/remuneration/services.
