Canadian F1 Grand Prix Fans?

Are there any M5 owners who are planning on going to the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal this summer? I go every year, and am really looking forward to the drive there.

Montreal is a great town, and because BMW has bought out the Sauber team, I'm hoping there will be some special events (and dare I say access) for the M5 owners who attend.

It would be great to do a meet if there's enough of us there.

I'm planning to attend and hoping I have my car by then. Currently looking at a late April or early May delivery if all goes as planned.

M Night is a big event. Would be great to have a bunch of E60 M5's there. I've seen lots of pictures but always saw loads of M3's - but not many 5's.

Any members taken their beasts out on the street for M Night before? Any concerns over crowds, keys, and zippers? Or do they rope off the cars?

If there's nothing to worry about I say let's do it!

PS - Your name doesn't have to be Mark (or Marc) to go....

I don't recall there being any ropes. There weren't for the Ferrari Night either though last year. I'd like to hear from anyone who has participated previously if they had any concerns or problems with vandalism. I'd love to see a street full of E60 M5s, but I'd only bring mine down if I was confident it would be safe.

Last year the only E60 M5 around was on stage during the BMW fashion show...**** models kept getting in the way of the car

Re: Canadian F1 Grand Prix Fans?

Last year my family and i went to Montreal the tuesday after GP weekend. Being a fan, i took them to see the race track, the workers were dismantling the stands etc, however no one was blocking the gate, so we drove on lap on the GP track. It was AWESOME. I could hear the crowd cheering me on, pretending i hit all the proper corners and downshifts. Unfortunately i was driving the family suburban and my max speed was 20 mph since there were work trucks everywhere. No one gave us a second look however.

i am thinking of returning for my second GP this year

Re: Canadian F1 Grand Prix Fans?

Wish I could attend. Timing doesn't jive with work, unfortunately.

On a related note, I will be at the Edmonton Canadian Indy races the w'end of July 23rd 2006.
We can do our own BMW show.
Anyone else?

Salty.

I will be there. My seats are right at the beginning of the straight.

Hope to see some other M5 owners there!
