Re: How Many Northen M5s (uk)

Just recently given up my daily drive on the M60, moved back to the North East after spending two and a half years in the North West (Cheadle Hulme).

Evil Vanos, I too would be very interested in a Northern Meet , if we can get enough people interested, maybe we can come up with a fairly central location. I believe there are a couple of newish members from Yorkshire and i'm sure there must be a few more from the Northern regions.

Here's looking forward to a meet in the near future.

I dont think I will ever move back to sunny scarborough, lifes too good without the snow, and I am sure I couldnt afford to run my M5 over there, speeding tickets aside petrol is cheap as chips over here,
Nay lad "Ilkley moor bar t M5?"
Not likely, although the M18 brings back some great memories in my Cossie . Also the luv of my life lives in Doncaster now....Oh Zena......memories .

Re: How Many Northen M5s (uk)

Hi There

I'm right on the north cheshire/derbyshire border....6 miles from the "most dangerous road in Britain" - the Cat and Fiddle. Might not be central enough as a venue meet, but I'll throw it into the ring anyway....anyone got any better venues?

Cheers

Guy

Re: How Many Northen M5s (uk)

Zena being a lady or your old cossie? For those who don't know Doncaster, the M18 = a big wide 3 lane motorway which carries as much traffic as your average A-road and so is perfect for 'testing' your car - until they decided to keep parking a bl**dy camera van on a bridge with a few jam sandwiches waiting a mile further down.

A tank of petrol for the M5 costs £65 here - thar used to buy a house, three loafs of bread and still have change for some chips wi that, ee by eck.

Zena is a lady , married to some lucky bugger in Doncaster now though .
The M18 was awesome back then in the early nineties, had 167mph on the speedo in my Cosworth with 4 in the car, racing a big motorbike at 2 in the morning, saw a patrol car on the parallel A road, he set off to catch me but got nowhere near us came off on the Driffield road and decked it, never saw him or the biker again, must say that I was chewing the cloth on my seats at the time .
But still couldnt do this back then in the daylight though
