1st UAE M5 MEET A RESOUNDING SUCCESS KOFI ANAN READ THIS!

Considering that we only first agreed to meet 3 days prior to the 1st event the turnout of 7 cars was a pleasant surprise. Our staging area was a little difficult to find mainly because the main gate was closed but as we had the forsight to exchange mobile telephone numbers this was soon resolved.
I was the first to arrive and had a half hour to look around the cars for sale, only one Beast for sale in the car lot tidy looking 2001 model.
The second to arrive was Ehssan in his impeccable Beast, I have to say that his OEM wheels are perfect and his bodywork and interior match, the sound system was amazing and made my stomach rumble as I sat in the car. Ehssan had the foresite to bring along the camera-girls and wow what a job they did, the only criticism I have is that they should have both been on the other end of the camera then this thread would be the most viewed thread in m5board history .
The 4th member of Ehssans car was the brother of one of the girls and a nice guy he was too.
To say Ehssan is larger than life is an understatement, talk about living your life in the fast lane this guy is living on the limiter, very nice friendly guy - this type of person would be an asset to any group.
The next to arrive was Jimmy_Dubai in his beautiful beast, very tasty and pristine car, although we now understand why he is not happy with the wheels, although I feel they match the rest of the car quite well, his driver door had suffered from the damage done by the repair shop and we could all see where the chemical had spilled. Jimmy was accompanied by his lovely wife Mrs Jimmy_Dubai (sorry cant remember names), again this couple were a pleasure to be with. Mrs JD told us a secret, everytime Jimmy wants to spend money on the beast he has to fund 3 times that much worth of shopping funds so his wife can go out and buy clothes, that means that Jimmy would be paying over a thousand US Dollars for DavidS Maf's, forget the headers Jimmy trust me you cant afford it
Next to arrive was ttboyvanc, looking a bit sheepish as he got out of his car and taking an impromptu glance at his newly painted OEM wheels. What a great job they have done, I never imagined that I would enjoy seeing painted wheels but they look absolutely great especially with the black trim offsetting the Baby blue Beast. Another very nice guy who had started work at 4am the previous day and had to leave early to start the next day at the same time! Thanks for making the effort ttboyvanc a pleasure being with you.
The next car to arrive was the 540i with some mechanics from the local dealership, it was nice to talk to some people who have hands-on experience with the beast. "Wow I was doing 210 and Ehssan flew by me like I was stood still" exclaimed one of them still in shock from the experience. The 540i is a beautiful car but against the M5? Shock and awe .

Last to arrive in a swirl of sand and dust was M5_Lust and his brother, both in their own M5's. M5_Lust is the new representative of Beastmaster in the UAE and his car was a very sporty sounding Imola Red Beast. His brothers was the black M5 and both cars have obviously been tweeked.
So there we were all ready to drive the 60 or so kilometers to the hotel, we set off together in perfect convoy until about 500 meters later we all stopped behind M5_Lust, oh no a problem already? Yes our beastmaster had not fed the beast, and had ran out of Gas . Enough said.

So once the beast was refuelled we pulled into a gas station and gassed up and got ready to go again. Finally pulled out onto Emirates road in convoy driving nice and steadily in the middle lane, for a while anyway, next thing you know Ehssan comes screaming up the inside lane with one of the camera girls hanging out of his sunroof shooting videos, each one of us shot as we roared past his car at WOT. What a blast.
We then pulled off the emirates road on the road to the hotel and then it got interesting, our camera mobile was in full shoot mode and M5_Lust took the other camera girl in his car and she set up in the same pose hanging out of the sunroof taking videos and stills, what a sight . Can you believe that 7 beasts together and the passers by were not looking at our cars?
We passed a GT2/3 Porsche on the road who had broken down sadly and he got honks from most of us .
We arrived at the Babs Al Shams Hotel in the middle of the desert, what a beautiful location. Had Iftar dinner together, whilst ordering my meal one of the waitresses came up and asked for me by name - I thought my luck was in . Turned out that I had left my wallet on the table downstairs and they had brought it back to me intact with CCards cash etc etc. Many thanks to the staff at the hotel. Saved my life.

Had a nice meal - eventually - and basicall chatted about the M5 board and our cars most of the time as you do. Then one of our camera girls a beautiful Iranian girl started to sing a lovely melody for us at our candle-lit table, it doesnt get any better does it?

We all left with a burn-out from the garage as the valets were expecting it werent they, well most of us did, I turned the DSC Off then On again and did a sort of drift out or the parking area without a sound . DSC works pretty well though

Advice to Kofi Anan if you have any problems with diverse cultures around the world then buy everybody an M5 and get them to join the M5board.com, we had people from so many different cultures, religions and countries, English Canadian Emiratees Palestinian, Syrian, Iranians, Belarus and we all had something in common - the M5 Beast and M5board.com, thanks have to go to Gustav as none of us would have ever met without your help and hard work.
A truly magnificent group of people here in UAE who will be I am sure happy to meet again next month in Al Ain at the Jebel Hafeet mountain top. This event will NOT happen until after Ehssan is back from his holidays, wouldnt have been the same without him and the camera girls.
Thanks to all those who turned up and apologies if I got any names wrong I will edit if you let me know where I have errors.
You know when you meet another 13 people for the first time there always someone you are not sure of? Too gobby, egotistical, etc etc? Well I can honestly say that this group are all people who anybody would be happy to meet with, a fine example of humanity to the world, great people with outstanding personalities and without exception totally respectful towards each other, I am proud to be a part of the UAE M5board membership and if you are reading this and didnt make it this time, dont worry the welcome is there for the next meetings - we all look forward to seeing new people.
Pics will be posted just as soon as the server accepts the downloads.
Cheers

Thanks Ashok, I realise retrospectively that I spent a lot of time talking about the members and not too much about the cars, but they really made the meet what it was. Promise to say more about the cars after our next meeting.
Still having problems trying to upload the pictures for some reason, is there a maximum size for pictures on the board?
