I've made mention on a thread or three that we need to convene a gathering of local M5 folks and/or fellow enthusiasts for social hour and perhaps a Hill Country spin. I've been needing to detail my Beast, and a firm date would force my hand into action. Besides, I just put on a new set of PS-II's that are just barely scuffed up. Cool temps = max S62 power....
So whaddya think? Anybody up for a Saturday or Sunday meet and greet (and commandeer the street?)? Would be great to put faces with the few folks I've seen posting here of late.
Finally, I found out that one of the ten BMWCCA raffle winners of a new E60 M5 lives in the neighborhood next to mine. Maybe we could parade around his block until he comes out to play.....
Lemme know what you think. If you'd like to suggest a date, I'm all ears...

I would be in, too. I live in Houston but have a place out in Spicewood between Austin and Marble Falls. November would be great for me. Keep us posted.
I am in but I am also booked for the rest of Oct. May I suggest that we meet at a local BMWCCA event on Saturday Nov 19th at BMW of Austin for a technical session (http://www.tejaschapter.org/tejas.html) click on events section. I am a BMWCCA member and have never gone to any BMWCCA events, this way we could all meet and still particapate in the technical session at BMW of Austin (if we need to) and or pick up some parts at 25% off. Maybe we could all meet at some other location before we go over to BMW of Austin. I know I need some parts at 25% off!!! Below are some of the highlights of the technical session:
-Members can do their own repairs with Technician assistance and use of the BMW tools (no charge)
-Safety glasses will be provided
-Parking will be provided
-There are 30 to 33 lifts available at one time
-The Saturday will be ~90% dedicated to Tejas Chapter members, ~10% to clients needing work on their cars
-Discount on parts 25% that day only (for club members). (need to verify that part is in stock prior to the event)
-Car wash available - BMW developed ionized water soft brush system
-If technicians identify a problem that day on a members car, then the repair will be CHARGED at normal price. (10% discount for club members)
That might be a nice time to do my SS brake lines, UUC SSK&WSR plus tranny mounts.........with a lift tools and tech provided, plus a nice drive home......
Dave, you're sellin the M5...!!! what's up w/ that?
Hey, Dave. Sad but potentially true. Three hellions under four means the 7er is no longer sufficient as the family truckster. So we got an '06 Odyssey arriving at the end of the month. I figured I'd put both the 7 and M5 up for sale to see what kind of interest each generates.
My E60 M5 allotment is due up this month, so I'll need to spec that car out---if I go thru with it. Given the disparity in spousal vehicles now (Odyssey to E60 M5?), I'm actually considering more family-friendly alternatives. Drove the new '06 750i last week and was amazed at the driving dynamics. There's an X5 4.8iS in the dealership that's been teasing me as well... I'll keep you posted!
