The S3 (#3885) finally broke into the 11's. The three best runs were:
Traction continues to be a problem and it appears we'll need cheater slicks to get deeper into the 11's. The next step after tires will be to go back to the 3.45 final drive.

It was a really nice day and kudos to Enzom for all his hard work in setting it up.

I want to thank those that made it out today for a very fun event. It was great to see the usual suspects and see some new faces. And I am glad everybody left safe and sound at the end of the day.

AJ's problem was not unique to him or his car. All of the street tired cars were having a problem hooking up. Yesterday's rain did a number on the launching surface. So even though the air was very good, it was hard to get off the line for many of us.

It was great to see Harry drive the monster down the track. I did not see the 11.9 second run, but I did see the S3 run through the traps at an honest 120.xx mph. Impressive.

I could see AJ was having a hard time hooking up at the line, but that also allowed me to hear his exhaust a bit longer. Very nice sound. Multiowner can flat out drive. His launches were impressive. He must have made 135 passes. Everytime I looked up, he was either on the track or on the return road (check your oil).

We had some other interesting cars there. An older early 90's M3 (forgive me for not remembering which series) that was running 10's; an Evo running 9's at 150 mph; corvettes running 10's at 130 plus; a stock Z06 that pulled a 10.9 on drag radials; the CLK 63 Black Series; an E63; a couple of stock E55's; a 300 SRT8; and a Charger running spray.

We'll do it again in the spring.

I don't think it is a stretch to say he made 100 runs.

That's why I love rentals. Like being a kid in a candy shop.

Lorenzo good meeting you and thanks for setting it up. Put my name down for the spring rental as I am really angry I could not stay and get more runs in. I was really starting to hook up better just as I had to leave! great time though guys. thanks for the exhaust comments. The exhaust on the evo made me want to wear ear plugs and throw up but everyone elses car sounded great. Lorenzo do you know what the guy in the black series' best time was? Just curious what those things can actually do.

My pleasure, and it was great meeting you, too. I was sorry to see you have to run so soon.

The best time for the black series was 12.115 @ 117.36 on a 1.89 60' time. I was very impressed. He achieved that in a head to head run with me. I ran an 11.941 @ 118.33 on that run with a slightly better (1.82) 60' time. There were some extremely well-matched races yesterday. My best for the day was an 11.834 @ 117.96. I was hoping for 119 traps in the good air, but the best I could manage (at least among the slips I found and kept) was 118.36.

I guess I'll wait til March.
