Boner the S3 is gonna be there and we'll make it a point to wait for you. But puhleeze, if you find you aren't going to be able to make it, call me ASAP on my cell (I'll PM the # to you). I suspect that by 3:00 PM we're going to have had our fill of runs and be ready to go home if you're going to be a no-show.
Will do, Ray. Like I said, it's a longshot. Unless my staff suddenly decides to get off their azzes and actually do some work, I'll be cutting it mighty close. But man, do I want to go
I am happy to hang out and wait as well Ed, just be sure to give the call around 1 to let us know what your plans are.
Well damn. Now I have to go to school AJ
If all of you think you'll have your fill by 1PM, then why don't you get there a bit later than 9? You could avoid morning rush and get some more sleep...just a thought. But certainly don't do it on my account b/c, again, the chances of me getting there on time are slim.
I'll be on the phone with Kevin today. They are not expecting any snow to stick down there, which is very good. It may be that the track won't be dry enough to run until 10 or 11 tomorrow, but it is too soon to know. I still plan on being there early to make sure that the prep is what we expect.
At a rental held earlier this week during one of the rainy days, they were not able to run until 11:30. But that was an overcast and humid day (it rained that afternoon). Our weather for tomorrow is forecasted to be sunny with a slight breeze, which obviously helps dry out the track much sooner. Heck, I'll be driving up and down the track slowly to help dry it out myself.
For Boner's benefit, I believe that tomorrow evening is a regular track day test & tune. So even though our rental officially ends at 4:30, we can always hang around and run during the evening with all of the other paying customers. Kevin may make us all pay the $20 or so they charge or, if we can't start running until 11-ish, he may just let us stay with the regular crowd.
All in all, I am predicting a fun day.

Thanks for the info, Enz. I plan on giving Kelster a call on Friday afternoon to let him know if I can make it down. But since you're now saying that you may not get to start till late morning, can one of you call or send me a text message in the AM to let me know if you're getting a late start and plan on staying later? This way, I won't have to rush like a madman to get out of work (I hate feeling rushed, esp at work). Enz, I know you have my number. Kelster, I'll PM you my cell. Thanks. Now I'm really hoping I can get down there.
Just got off the phone with Kevin Sway. We will run tomorrow, but probably not before 10:30. They will start cleaning the track at 8 when people get in for work.
We can speed up the clean-up if Kevin fires up the jet engine, but it costs $750 to fire that baby up. Not sure it is worth it to get an extra hour of running.
THERE IS NO TEST & TUNE TOMORROW NIGHT. WHEN WE ARE DONE AT 4:30, THE TRACK CLOSES. I was wrong in assuming they were open on Friday nights.

Boner - the good news is that if we start running later, the odds are that more people will stay until 4:30. Heck, maybe they will let us stay a bit longer.
