Re: M5 vs. CL55

Once again, I am just telling you what happened. My car has always been very strong since the day I bought it. I think the fact that I got a better launch and the guy had rims that were 2 inches over stock may also have something to do with the outcome. The fact that you believe the difference between a 330 and an M5 is smaller than the gap between an M5 and a CL55 just bewilders me. If someone in a modded 330 called out my M5, I would be ready to quiet him at that exact moment.

Re: M5 vs. CL55

Your friends love to talk on the MB forum but none want to step up to the plate. The one guy claims he beats the M5 with his C55. He lives in Miami. That's not too far from me. See if he wants to back up his BS.

This is getting silly.

The fact that I "believe" it?? Dude...I posted the test results from the car magazines. This is not an opinion of mine, it is a scientifically verified fact. The as-tested margin between the CL55 and M5 is larger than that of the M5 and 330i. Read the articles if you don't believe it, but facts are facts.

And here's another fact: no matter what evidence, be it documented tests, accounts of the forum moderators, or even video evidence provided by the forum moderators, is provided, you're going to keep arguing this silly point. The facts plainly show that what you're describing is physically impossible. He has over 100 horsepower on you, and 130 ft-lb of torque on you, weighs 200 pounds more, and yet you're claiming that after you got off to a whopping 1.5 carlength lead, you held him off to 110 mph.

Sure. And if I drop a brick off of a building, it will fall up.

Either you ran into a non-supercharged, 2000-2002 CL55, or you made the whole thing up, but the facts show that there is no way a lightly modded M5, strong or not, well driven or not, could do what you described to a true supercharged CL55 AMG. Once he hooks up, you're done.

Sorry, but this is a waste of time.

ps: here's a video of the *new* M5 versus the CLS55 AMG (again, same motor, gearing, and weight as the CL55 AMG). Looks like acceleration was a tie, so be sure to run the new M5 when it comes out...I'm sure he won't get by you, lol.

Re: M5 vs. CL55

Talk to the guy in the C55, and see if he wants to back up his claim. I will drive to Miami to meet him if he would like. Its not too far. Its definitely worth the drive.

Re: M5 vs. CL55

I think its really funny what is going on in the Benz forum. The sh*t talking forum is buzzing, but the one that requires action still has zero replies. I would not at all be surprised if it stays that way.

Re: M5 vs. CL55

We said a CL55, am I correct? I still haven't seen any of those. Next week would be good for me after the Thanksgiving break. The E55 is definitely faster than the heavy CL55. Is there one stock CL55 in the state of Florida that is ready to back up all your bullsh*t. So far, the answer is no!!! The Bimmers are ready to play next week after the holiday, but I really doubt the AMG's will be ready.
