Florida or Seattle M5 / M6 - Who wants to run with a 335i with Procede?

Anyone in Florida want to run with SFLGator? To be fair, you should be stock minus the charcoal filters.

Who is in? I can try to arrange a hook up at a racetrack....

PLease let me know if you are interested and what part of Florida you are from.....

Why is there so much hype around 335 with procede chips?!

335's are nice cars and they are quick no doubt, but they really shouldn't compare it to a m5. Speaking from experience, I have a friend with a 335 and a procede chip and it's a beauty, but I wouldn't call it an even race by any means. I think that guy on E90 either went against an M5 who wasn't racing or he had to be in p400 mode.

Throw S6, P500S and DSC off and the 335 will disappear in the rear view. literally...

Funny. Ever since BMW advertised the 335i "nearly as fast as" the E46 M3, 335i owners have developed a little power-trip. Youtube is littered with E46 M3s racing E90 335is. I had a little fun with a 335i. They're impressive, but not nearly as fast.

My story: I was following a 335i on an on-ramp to a major highway. Time was after dinner: No cars on the HWY, but not late either. He recognized me in his mirror because I could see him goose the throttle, tailgating the car infront of him. Two turns, P500 Sport, S6, DSC Off, I shot into the middle lane and he was two car lengths back before he could merge onto the slow lane. I let off the gas around 130 MPH, and he was a dot in the mirror. When he caught up, he gave me a big thumbs-up. Fun time.

This 335i wasn't tuned. Quick, but not anywhere close to the M5 fast in my opinion.

My logic: Slowest --> Fastest: E90 335i < E46 M3 < Audi RS4 < M5
So: E90 335i is <<< M5.

I ran my 335i with the proceed and full exhaust and downpipes, with my buddy's stock M5.....Out of the hole the 335 jumps the M5 out of the hole, and holds the M5 to about 50-60mph, but make no mistake the M5 is faster.....If your crusing at 50-60mph on a role the M5 pulls away and after 100mph forget it.....But from a stand still the 335 has a slight advantage due to traction......I love my 335 very very fun to drive with the software, but it needs bigger turbos to hang with the M5.....Speaking of bigger turbos for the 335, they are in the works, should be avaliable in the next 2-3 months once testing is complete......

Interesting comment about traction advantage of the 335i considering it has an open diff....

No one is volunteering to run a Procede 335i in Seattle or Florida?

Anyone else noticed that the 335i will be the bridge from the rice community into the BMW one?

Everyone that has one wants to race and say how the new M3 will not be as fast....bla bla bla. Im sick of it.

Gotta realize that many of the new 335i owners are former Scubby and Evo owners.... You can take the driver out of the ricebox but you can't take the ricebox out of the driver

lol...

....very true.....but we are all racers at heart.....Im in Miami I would run the car again for fun, but my car is currently apart getting the twin turbo upgrades......We are going todo a track rental at Moroso some time is Oct/Nov....If the M5 board members are intrested I will post more info in the next week or two...Jay.S
