Bi-Xenon headlights on US 996TT

The question has been troubling me and I asked several people who all gave me different answers. Does the US version 996TT have the same headlights as the Euro 996TT? I am asking because in Europe, the 996TT is supposed to have a Bi-Xenon headlight. Quoting from an article: "The bi-xenon headlights featured exclusively on the 911 Turbo develop the low and high beam in one single gas discharge bulb, with light being projected on to the road ahead through a 70 mm glass lens. A moving cover provides the different distribution of light for the low and high beams, maintaining the bright/dark barrier when lifted, as prescribed by law for the low beam head-lights. When lowered, on the other hand, the cover opens up a greater path of illumination for the high beam. The mechanical process of lowering and lifting the cover takes place within fractions of a second, meaning that the bi-xenon headlights may also be used with the usual flasher function."
This was clearly not the case with my '01 (US) 996TT as it had a seperate high beam bulb which is more of a normal bulb than a high discharge one.
Please let me know. If indeed the headlights are different, can a US car be modified to Bi-Xenon or do I need to order new headlight units from Europe?

NOt sure if they are EXACTLY the same, I'm sure that they function in the same way. Compared to standard bulbs the xenon type bulbs take much longer to light up due to the gases where as the standard type bulbs have a filament for almost instant on.

On all the turbos, they still use a flap (shutter, light defector, what ever you call it) for the xenon portion and along with a standard halogen bulb for instant on.

Say you're on the autobahn and it's daylight and you want to flash someone to move over. The xenon bulbs alone would not be able to instant on, it would actually take a few moments to get the gases heated up in the bulbs to be able to flash effectively.
