Today was a car lover's dream. In the morning I got to see a beautiful silver 996 Turbo with the TechArt Stage 2 body kit. I had just seen this car yesterday over at By Design. It runs 600hp on 1.3 bar boost.
Then around lunchtime, I had the pleasure of running into Deanger at Cross Creek, with his amazing seal gray GT2 drawing crowds of people admiring the car.
Then about an hour ago I was hanging out at the Cross Creek shopping center in Malibu yet again, and what do I see parked behind me? A Lapis Blue Ruf R Turbo. But I have NEVER seen an R Turbo like this, it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It made me feel more lustful than seeing some of the scantily clad chicks at the Halloween party I went to!
The car had a special widebody conversion, The front fenders looked like the ones from the TechArt widebody kit, and the rear looked like the Manthey 996 Turbo from the other thread. The edge of the fenders extended about 3 or 4 inches beyond the edge of the tailights!

In fact, it was so wide that there were vents or air inlets next to the tailights!
Then it was outfitted with a GT2 wing with one difference. The base was GT2, but the top wing was a custom carbon fiber wing that extended all the way across to the edges of the tailights. The wing itself was as wide as the stock 996 Turbo.
Instead of having the air inlets behind the rear door on the side of the rear fenders, this car had the triangular shaped ducts on the top of the fenders, just like the CTR Yellowbird or the narrow bodied R Turbo.
The front of the car had the Ruf R Turbo add on front spoiler, but the bumper itself was modified as well. The horizontal slat inserts were pulled out so that the air inlets in the front were recessed like the GT2's. However, it had no cross bar between the holes. Instead, the guy put a silver mesh inside the 3 inlets. VERY AGGRESSIVE LOOK!
The wheels were Ruf, but not the standard design. It was the multispoke ones that look like the HRE 549 or the SL 55 wheel. I think it was multi-piece but had no rivets in them. I have never seen these wheels before, but judging from the Ruf center caps, I think they were Ruf wheels.
The interior had leather trimmed GT3 seats, the Integrated Roll Cage, as well as a racing Rollbar, all trimmed in leather, so it took a close look to notice it. It also had the Ruf steering wheel. I could tell this was not a conversion, it seemed to be a Ruf factory car, made in Pfaffenhausen.
The car also had Oregon plates. Don't blame him because who would want to pay sales tax on something like this?

Sales tax would be as much as an M3 in the People's Republic of California.
What was funny was that the owner and his little daughter were in the Automotive Legends store while my buddy and I were gawking over this goddess of a machine. When my friend ran his finger lightly over the paint, the little girl ran outside and smiled, and said, "My car! No one can touch it except for me! I can drive this car too!" She seems to be well trained from Daddy. Cutest little girl though... LUCKY as all hell too to ride in a car like that!
If only I had my camera...
It was easily the most beautiful Porsche I have ever seen.
Anyone know anything about this car? Didn't know Ruf made such a super widebody....
