e39 M5 engine in Great running condition

I have a s62 for sale out of a 2000 M5 with 147k miles on it.

The engine sounds great, has great throttle response, oil light goes out immediately, No oil in the coolant. No signs of oil leaks. I think it is a solid engine although I am not providing any warranty.

A video clip is below: The first part is a cold start, had not been started for a week.. The vacuum cleaner noise you here is the Secondary air pump which engages during the first 60 seconds of a cool start. That hose was severed in the crash so It is a little loud.( It is air injection for smog on cold start and does not affect performance.) The second start is with a warm engine and I gun the throttle a couple of times, followed by a slow steady rpm climb to 5500.

I am looking for $4500 + shipping. The engine will include the flywheel and Clutch which were replaced 5k miles ago by BMW of Riverside. MAF's and exhaust manifolds are not included. It will include air collector and wiring harness.

PM me if interested.

Local buyers are welcome to see if run...on jack stands

Compression numbers to come later in the week.

Doug

I finally got a chance to do the compression test today.

Taken on a warm engine, ambient temperature 95 degrees, Altitude 1,100 ft

170 170 170 175 172 170 172 170

Great numbers and I even installed new plugs.
