Do you know if you can use an old Dice 16 pin cable? if they are all interchangeable?

I sent them an email and asked them this. The price of a new 16-pin cable is $29.99 and they claim it is 'improved' - I would assume this to mean lower gauge wires and possibly more shielding. My old DICE unit used to pick up a lot of noise.
