Hey Tim -

I am a new owner but interested in next batch.

Sorry for the rookie question but are the tips all that is needed to complete the muffler delete / straight pipe conversion?

Thanks

Well yes and no... The tips are just the aesthetic part so that from the outside your car looks like it still has stock exhaust... just a little bit wider... underneath the car, you will have a muffler shop cut off the stock exhaust cans right behind the pipes that come out the back of the resonator box... this muffler shop will then fabricate some new extension pipes that will be angled/bent out between the space from the resonator to the back of the tips... they will then weld this fabricated extension to your resonator and to your tips, they will also attach a hanger and then bolt that up to one of the stock muffler hanger points under the car.... voila... you have "straight pipe" exhaust....

^^^ What he said. Thanks Davin.....

Any muffler shop should be able to do this. It really isn't "custom" work, just not your typical muffler install. The shop that did mine charged me $100. Just make sure they use 2.5" stainless.

On a side note.....

For those looking at this thread, I do NOT own my own shop, business, or anything like that. I am a regular guy, with a regular job, I just make these tips in my spare time as a hobby. I do not make hardly ANYTHING on these. I buy parts, weld them together, and offer them to board members because this is a great community to be a part of. I do not offer these to other forums, or sell them anywhere else. HOBBY people. HOBBY.

I have had a few members contact me about making more. I will do my best to get parts ASAP. Again, this comes out of my own pocket up front, so PLEASE, if you want the tips, contact me and DON'T BACK OUT.

Thanks!!

Tim

Here's a look at the pipes that Timmay has made for me with custom etching. He says that this photo is before he does the final polishing, but they already look great! Just waiting on UPS now.

Tim, Great Work!

Thanks again!!

Install question

Tim, hey, I can't remember if I sent you a note telling you that I received your shipment. I got them and they look great.

One question, in a bunch of your posts you mention to make sure the installer uses 2.5" stainless pipe. I haven't been able to find anybody local that stocks stainless and they all keep telling me that it won't make any difference whether they make the connecting pipe out of stainless or the cheaper "aluminized steel". What's your opinion on sticking with the stainless?
