I bought my original tips off ebay for $110 and it cost me $100 at the exhaust shop. Just find a set of tips you like that have a 2.5" in and out for whatever size you want, take them to an exhaust shop, and have it done. Just be sure they use stainless steel for the new pipe.

But like I said in a previous post, you find me the correct "Y" piece and I can make another set. I can't find a piece that has a 2.5" in and 2 3" out. I do not want to TRY and make a "Y" piece, too complicated for my skills. I hacked up my Magnaflow set and used their Y pipe and just welded to it. You could buy a Magnaflow set and let me sut it up if you really wanted to.....

Did the emblem blasting today. Very happy with the results, but may end up changing the order of the emblems. That means I will have to refabricate one of the tips, but I am going to see if this look grows on me.

Thoughts?

My car has same setup.

No Problems with the Law?

I may be dating myself, but, when I was getting into cars in the '60s, there were laws against too-loud mufflers. Is that not the case, anymore?

Do you have annual safety inspections in Ohio? Do they not object to the straight pipes?

I see lots of motorcycles with straight pipes, and always wondered how they get away with it.

Educate me, please....

Nice custom touch Tim.
I had one other alternate quote for your tips, "Can you hear me NOW". A few to many words but fitting for your distinct M5 rumble.
Thanks for posting.

If I can ever get my hands on a blown M5 to rebuild as a "Rat" M5, I am taking all of your quotes and making bumper stickers to put on it! LOL!!

Thanks for the compliments!!

After talking to Chris (hdhntr23) I have decided to swap the pipes on the driver's side so the ///M5 is on the longer pipe on both tips. I thought I wanted it in order, showcasing both emblems, but it just doesn't look right. I'll work on that tomorrow.
