Niiiiice!

I notice that the side mouldings on the B8 Convertible are painted. As on the B8 4,6 Touring Mr Janne and I saw. That is nice! Also looks like you have the Philips SilverVisions installed on the turn lights, correct?

B8 Guru,

I have finally picked my car up and it is also featured in the October issue of BMW Car magazine. I do like the green colour of your touring.

One thing I did notice is that all your cars have the M3 style mirrors. Were these standard fitment or are they aftermarket items? I have the normal mirrors on mine.

I have managed to fit the clear indicator lenses though, and they do make the car in Cosmos Schwarz look a lot better.

Regards

Paul

Thanks for the nice words! I have more detailed pics of the convertible that I will try to post later today.

Gustav: In fact all three of them have the "ugly" standard orange turn signal bulbs... But I should probably get white ones.
Yes, all body parts (of the car) are painted Alpina Blue which is very nice!

Frosty: I have to get my hands on a copy of BMW Car. Your car must be the one that was advertised by BMW Niederlassung Berlin? If so, I think you made a good choice
All my cars came with the M3 style mirrors from Alpina. It was an option back then.It makes the cars look a lot better IMHO. In fact the Coupe and Convertible also came with gold Alpina deko stripes, but the first owners took it off... Honestly I think the cars look better without...I will probably get a lot of heat here for that statement

Michael,

You are quite correct the car was purchased from Nefzger? in Berlin. They sold the car new and I got it from them acting as sales agent for the original owner. Only 67,000kms on the clock. I do also prefer the M3 mirrors, so something else to look into. The car is unbadged or striped so is quite inconspicuous, except for the big wheels and larger exhaust. Great fun surprising unsuspecting boy racers though!

I was looking at another touring that is no longer advertised on mobile.de, but the fellow selling the car statred playing around and would not deal with the German agent I wanted to inspect the vehicle. Glad now though as he had installed an expensive stereo (no bad thing) but had also put a big speaker in the boot floor which I was not keen on.

The bmwcarmagazine.com web site just shows a small picture of the article.

Regards

Paul

Great pictures of 3 beautiful looking cars.

When will you put Alpina stripes on the convertible, every real Alpina has them?

All of the produced alpinas have stripes put on, i heard it takes 3 hours to put'em on , but the buyer has an option to remove'em without additional cost...

Option number 172 for the E36 Alpina was "Ohne Deko-Set"...
So not all Alpinas had the stripes from factory. Alpina didn't produce these cars to inventory, but after specific orders and it seems backward to produce after an order that specifies no deko set and then put it on only to take it off...
