Good point. We can actually expand this to non.sponsors as well, not a problem. But then we need really valid arguments, and those will also be separated from the "sponsors" in the list.

Until the forum administrators find an objective way to accurately measure customer satisfaction indexes for both sponsors and non-sponsors (as the ebay customer feedback & "star process" does), I think they should stay out of that business. The sponsor complaint thread will provide a very subjectively distorted, worthless and misleading picture. The result may be a loss of good sponsors and/or fewer benefits for members.
I go back and forth on something like this. I can understand people having a problem with XYZ Co. but what is mildly irritating to some will be something others will sue about. It's very difficult for us to verify the facts from behind our keyboards. On the other side, I am the FIRST who wants to know what works well, which company has better products and who offers the best service along with the bad ones and rely on places like this to get some of that information.
Here's an idea that I had that I imagine may be shunned. I feel that we ran off the Dinan rep., (We being a few people on here with Dinan issues both real and questionable.) by frequently attacking him in threads where he answered questions. I feel we should somehow restrict direct attacks on vendors. Sure you can start a thread titled "XYZ, sold me a broken flux capacitor!" but no attacks on the company rep's in other non relevant threads. Anyway, imo it will not further your cause and will often end up in closing a pipeline of information for many others.
Dinan said they were too busy (and I hear they may return again) but I don't think that's all of it. As many other's have said, Dinan Engineer was attacked in almost every thread. I don't think my suggestion as it stands is perfect, hell this is the land of free speech right? But, we also need the vendors here, I love being able to ask specific questions of employees and owners of companies. I feel like I get 'inside information' this way.
I hope we can find a solution that works well for both sides. Thanks to the vendors who stick it out. I try and buy from board supporters whenever possible.
I agree with you that Dinan Engineer did a great job, and I blame myself for not stopped some of the attacks in time. After countless of posts they stood up for their rebate in the end, and the matter was sorted. Alot of time would have been spared not posting the problems officially but dealt with them in direct communcation with the vendor.

Gustav, I like your last point, and agree with a lot of what Lscman has posted. It was a shame the Dinan threads became so vitriolic, public flaming is extremely counter-productive. Factual posts and threads make better reading and carry more weight.
I agree with the intention to black-list PROVEN scheisters (sp?).
why dont make a sponsor tread for us with for every sponsor his own tread with a poll attacht, where a customer can give his/her objective+pro/cons or feedback on the sale and customersservice.something like they do on ebay.generally you can get an idea fast if the vendor is good/or less good to do bussines with.this could be a good thing so we can make objective choises and not go with one comment off somebody who had a bad experience with a vendor and is a bit frustrated at that time .people always remember the negative things.i totally agree with you for warning us for bad vendors but i have to agree with lscman also.so maybe a compromise where we can judge if its worth to go with/or not could maybe stop the posts of questions like; is this vendor good???is this vendor reliable?? etc...
second point is if you ban somebody, they can adress it to the moderators but if its a democratic and objective judgement from our members/customers they cant blame moderators for comments either.
this is something that came up in my head to get a true and objective thought of a vendor/sponsor.its just a suggestion
this board is made by/for members. and its the greatest board on the internet. so lets pull all together to make it still greater
