This whole thing is just ridiculous. This kind of behavior on the part of all parties involved is what spurred my buddies and I to start our own club and messageboard. Why can't everyone jsut admire all cars for what they are? I can enjoy and admire a vette, a ferrari, a BMW, a MB, Lambo, etc as much as anything. Why does this always have to degrade into a "my car is better than your car" pissing match.

I think the threads are quite good quality in, it is just the off topic sections that gets bad quality, like this thread ? Or am I wrong?

I think it's more in reference to MB vs. BMW or Lambo vs. Ferrari. All of the cars are incredible machines. I will be the first to admit that my M5 is not the fastest car out there. Never will be. It's one of the best all around cars. 4 doors, fast, nimble, comfortable, etc. I just don't understand why cars guys cant just be car guys and admire them all.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. I can even honestly say that I respect a well-tuned Ricer and a nice Charger or Mustang along with the upcoming E90 M3 or a pre-war MB 540K.

Hihi, I remember Roman and Marcvip. I also remember rattling Marcvip's chain a bit in (I think) a clutch thread. He went through the roof......

I've skimmed through some of these controversial threads over at MBWorld over the past few weeks, and it gave me a headache. lol.

IMO, I'm not a brand-whore so I think I'm open minded and appreciate both AMG & M (have them in garage both 06), but boy some of those comments at MBWorld is quite uncalled for... Some examples..

I see at least 2 separate threads about "upcoming" M5 VS K4 E55 video clips. People were complaining and even attacked Gustav because there was no video clips in thread. One individual even called him a "troll". To be fair, it's nature to get irriated seeing a 3-4 pages thread without a damn video and I can agree to that (look at Black M5's thread about "best wheels" without any picture and some members got irritated), but the problem is he did not even start those threads, and all of the sudden it's his fault for a thread he did not start?

Gustav was been attacked BEFORE the clip was even been put up so it seems obviously to me what's going to happen once the video will be avilable. And there it is. The video was delivered. Are we happy now since this is all we have been asking for? Nope, more bashing. Again, to be fair it's nature to doubt the result since 507HP beating a 640HP is controversial (or against physics as some said) once you throw in the gearing advantage and heatsoak/tire pressure issues into it. But why is it all the sudden ALL his fault that he filmed the stock M6 beating the K4 the way it happened? He was there, you guys weren't. Am I right assuming that MBWorld members do not want to just see M6 VS K4 E55 clip. They want to see a K4 E55 BEATING the M6. I would bet that if video was delivered in this scenario then there will be no bashing. Why such one way street? This reminds me of M3 forums I used to visit and E55 owners should not be biased like that. And for those that argue we never race over 150MPH 90% of the time in U.S., I agree with you and the K4 DID beat M6 (especially multiple car lengths during intial start) before the 150 mark and we all saw that, so be happy!

I also saw comment like "rolling start racing is gay". Another confusing comment. So if I raced someone on freeway I'm gay? Ok, I will roll down the windows, yell at them to pull over to a complete stop then start the race from the dig. Doesn't this stunt sound more gay to you? hehe :P To be fair, if anyone ever puts up a similar video racing from a dig, I will certainly respect your effort on this never call you out and say "racing from dig is gay". Afterall, magzine tests their 0-60 or 1/4 mile time from standing start and I can understand that.

Then I see comments from "Improviz" quesioning why Kleeman's post was deleted on this board, as if there was something to hide. This was addressed in the other thread and my understanding is Kleeman did not post on this board. Now, there was a post on MBworld where someone copy and pasted Kleeman's reply admitting the defeat but there was issue with their tire pressure which puts their K4 at disadvante on highspeed. That post was deleted on MBworld. Why beating on Gustav over this issue while not Mbworld? Isn't this as you call it "double standard"? Now, I believe that post was probably deleted due to the privacy disclaimer in the E-MAIL where distribution of private conversation is prohibited and I'm fine with that, but that's not the point. The point is why blame on Gustav for everything?

I also read "Imp"'s complain about the moderation/double standard and to be fair he has a point and I think the issues brought up were valid. Maybe that's why you were not banned since you brought up valid issues? However, he's the adm of the forum and certainly has some leverage over moderation on his own forum. You might think he's biased on some issues and you might be right, but again this is not one way street. There were also complaints on Mbworld accuing its biased moderation policy (for examples, most of the complains were about Evosport). I think you get my point. I agree this forum is not moderated 100% fairly or accurately, but most of the other forums are not either.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised....

...as I had expected, lots of personal attacks, but nary an attempt to respond to the points I raised.

So, if I can summarize:

1) it is fine for Gustav to censor, moderate, and ban members of MBWorld who post videos and/or venture their opinions here. It is not fine for MBWorld to ban Gustav.

2) it is fine for Gustav to claim that people have violated this board's TOU when they have not and ban, mod, or censor them. It is not fine for MBWorld to claim that Gustav violated their board's TOU, even when they can prove it.

3) It is fine for Gustav to post videos of M cars in the Mercedes forum. It is not fine for us to post videos of Mercedes in the race stories forum.

4) it is fine for Gustav, and others, to post videos with no BMW content in the M5board Race Stories forum. It is not fine for me to post a video with no BMW content in the same forum. It is fine for Gustav to move this video to OT, and delete my responses. It is also fine for another moderator to call me names in this same series of posts, an offense for which I would be moderated.

5) it is fine for Gustav to start a thread here complaining about his being banned on MBworld. It is not fine for me to start a thread there complaining about his censoring, moderating, and banning MBworld members.

6) it is fine for Gustav to post videos comparing the acceleration of cars in the MBWorld forums, but if I or any Mercedes owner engage in a discussion here about which car is faster, we are engaging in a "pissing contest", and are subject to arbitrary banning, moderation, or worse.

7) if BMW owners in this forum insult MBWorld or its members, this is OK. If MBWorld owners in their forum insult any BMW owner, regardless of his actions, this is bad.

Thank you all for clearing that up.
