European Music fans, who of the two rock groups is better?

I had this debate with a semi-girlfriend and it got into a heated debate over which is "artistically" the better band.

Is it the group "SUEDE" or some refer to them as
London Suede, or is the group "PLACEBO" a better group ???

I know we have a lot of members on this board (European countries) who are exposed to both of these bands and have knowledge of their style of music. Which is the better band?
        Thanks for your candid replies.
        Robert
