        Top Gears Richard Hammond

        Guys
        I thought I'd post this.
Im sure are all aware of the recent unfortunate circumstances with Richard Hammond.
Its quite clear that had it not been for the Air Ambulance, Richard would not be in the position to be able to fight for his life.

Please do send it on to anyone else you can think of / post it to any car club's website if no-one else has already done so.

If you haven't already seen, Pistonheads has arranged a donation website to help the Yorkshire Air Ambulance that airlifted poor hamster to hospital.

        http://www.justgiving.com/PHRichardHammond

The old target of £25,500 (up from £360 for one flight) would pay for 75 flights. This morning the total stood at about £28k.

        Thanks
        Farrell

        Good idea - done.

Anyone pissed off with the way the BBC are reporting it. i.e every anti car/topgear group crawling out of the wood work to have a good old moan about cars. Makes me mad!

He should have been wearing his glasses, that was obviously the problem.

Not surprised, the media is always sensationlist - even the BBC who are the best of a very very bad bunch.

Shocking news though, apparantly he had such good fun in previous runs he went back for one more, and thats when it happened. My sympathies go out to him & his family.

Its a tragedy. He is such a gifted entertainer and car guy on Top Gear. We're pulling for him and praying from NJ.

BBC's fellow traveller the Grauniad (Guardian) has predictably joined the "cars are evil" cult as this article by Mr Pseuds Corner (Mark Lawson). Bet you he was one of those guys who hated sport and played with dolls. Expect Top Gear to be taken off air in next three years or be totally taken over by electric / wind powered car features.

You are wrong about Lawson playing with dolls. He started playing with his sister's and got beat up. Since then he plays with himself.

He should be strapped to the bonnet of Sabine's ring taxi and driven round the ring at full tilt...

Seriously though I hope the hamster comes back good as new and feeling the need for speed again.

I think it is a great shame about this accident I really hope like others that he makes a full recovery.

As for Top Gear I suppose this will be changed to Low Gear and feature nothing that goes over 10 mph .........downhill!
