Not sure - always liked him though. I'll see what I can do to track him down. If you are looking for a new SA if you can't find him - Deiter Nickelsberg at Camleback BMW is awesome.

The last time (August) I had my car into John, he was quite fed-up with the whole front office scene. He said he was considering applying for a Dinan rep. position. I have his home phone number somewhere here, so if I find out it, I'll call him to inquire about his wereabouts.
He is the first SA I've met that has come from the Master Mechanic ranks into the SA dept. I thought it would be a perfect situation.
The other SA I orignally was assigned to there knew less about M5's than my gardener.
Has the service at Camelback improved lately? I live two miles from that shop, but I've heard way too many horror stories to entrust them with my car. I drove the addtional 20 miles for piece of mind (that is until John left).
It would be great to have someone closer to do the annual service and warranty work.

He really was passionate about the M cars...
if you find out where he went I'd really apprecite it.
thanks
BTW...he complained about the same thing to me...I have a guy at camelback...but my M5 might just as well be a 325 to him...so I figure its worth asking

Is Camelback BMW name still being used? I used to do business with them all the time in 2000 - 2001 until Chapman bought them out. I had a bad experience with Chapman one time so I would occasionally go to BMW of North Scottsdale but felt less motivated once the SA I had left that you often get so attached to.
I still have a Camelback BMW steel license plate frame on my car when I bought my M3 in 2000. Always liked that plate with the roundels on it, etc.
Anyway, I lived in Phoenix for 28 years until 2003 so I know the place well.

If you are near Chapman Bmw Autoplex on Mcdowell in south scottsdale give my good friend and neighbor Mike Scofield a call. Whether you like chapman or not it is the person that counts and he is a true enthusiast and track guy so he'll take care of you honestly He is the only bmw service consultant I'd consider taking my car to in AZ.
If only I knew someone personally in norcal who I could trust when I pick up my m3 soon

I have had nothing but good luck - I think a good SA makes all the difference in the world. Done all work as promised on time and done right.

I think they use Chapman on Camelback now. I hear how you feel about a bad experience; thats why I stopped going to N Scottsdale. Give Dieter a call - good guy, down to earth and loves the cars. Tell him I sent you and I swear he'll take care of you.
