On the star system- Ive noticed this too- and often times when I see a thread with low stars I go and read it and if its not offensive I vote max stars just to balance it. Thats just me.

Re: Black M5... no more!

I'd like to see you reconsider...but that's your choice.
I've seen this happen on many forums. I just hope it doesn't reach the next level which is vendors leaving. We recently had the Beastpower and UUC spat. We are now seeing DA get lashed. There probably have been others. We've got to be careful or no one will want to support the board. Then there will be a balck hole with no info sharing or vendor support.

Re: Black M5... no more!

While it's too bad to see anyone leave because they feel they've been wronged I'm not sure this is the worst thing. The fact that Black is leaving because of personal attacks and immature people is kind of ironic. The most personal attacks I've seen recently have been from him and I would certainly call it immature to say that anyone who disagrees with him is immature.

Certainly just one person's opinion and I know Black M5 has been here for a very long time and pioneered a tremendous amount of knowledge for mod's. I just hate watching threads degrade down to personal attacks and I've seen him steer a few that way recently.

Re: Black M5... no more!

I'm confused I think I missed a post could sombody help me out...

Where are the pics he got 1 star votes for?

And so is all this over that and bill getting a few bad replys? I thought I saw mostly good stuff and people waiting, granted at some point I just started to scan it as too much crap was being posted.

Re: Black M5... no more!

The questions is how to enforce it. We implemented a rule that you have to establish a contact via the reailer via phone to try to sort out the situation, which has been done in the DA thread. What could a solution be there? I think we handlöed the clutch situation in a good way, it ended good.

Re: Black M5... no more!

Im not saying that im leaving yet, im just saying that i have noticed a pretty negative tone from certains that i really dont like. I understand that there are always positive and negative reactions to anything, and thats something that i have learned. Being a mod over on another board has showed me where that line is and sometimes people cross it...sometimes it settles before action is need.

Im not leaving yet, but i would certainly like to see a change or two take place around here.

Re: Black M5... no more!

Was there a thread or post with current finished pics of the cars that brought this up is it it the two threads with some negitive stuff in that caused it?

I think it's wise to hang around till you take delevery of the car and drive it for say a month and rave about it, the negitive things will go at that point.

Also the clutch going got over blown, butI understand his point of view and it was more than the clutch, small things are compounded by other previous failers.

Re: Black M5... no more!

Gustav,

I know i have left once before and that should show that i have no issues with doing it again.

Why exactly did I leave before Gustav? I know but not many others do not ..

As for my thoughts..

1. I would like to see the cursing outta here...this is not road fly nor is it e46fanatics. Sure i know that curse words when used as a joke can sometimes be funny but when someone uses them left and right into a post, it does little to express their actual feelings. Grammer/spelling (i know im just as guilty as others sometime)

2. Have people posting things in the correct forums..im not sure how you as moderators can handle that more, i know its difficult. I find myself actually trying to help point m5board members to this when they post but somehow the posts take quite some time to move into the OT (where most of them belong) section. Even you and I have had discussions about you, yourself, leaving obviously off topic items in the wrong forums, only because you know that they will get more exposure. Sometimes that is a smart idea, but sometimes I just can see how some of the posts that are left have anything to do with the m5....

3. In doing as such and I had a discussion with Kees the other day, and I understand where he is comming from, but i was actually slightly repremanded for using 2 lines out of another post to answer a question that was directly asked of me. Yet the other 2 topics that i bring up seemingly got/get little attention from moderators other than to just move threads or trash them when things get nasty. I know what the use of PM's are, and I certainly know when or when not their use is needed.

Im a bit different from the last time I left and i think that because i have the responsibility to do the same actions you guys do. I just think that there are other things that need sorting out before comming to me...im the last person on this board to worry about.

Im trying to ensure that the board stays friendly and civilized just as the rest of us are. The mean age of this board should show through though us youngsters try to keep it a bit "hip."

Good point,, we can implement that right away. I dont like curses either.

My rule is that if it is generally interesting or a very special and interestign thing, let's leave it a few days for discussion, then move it. For example if Adam would testdrive a McLaren F1, you driving a Enzo or something similar. Also, if it is something we all M5 enthusiast must know, like the launch of an E65 AMG or something.

I cant speak for Kees, that is something you should ask him about.

Yes, but if we get similar to m3forum of bimmer I would see no joy in maintaining this site. I have personally been slandered for pages and pages on other forums and that is just a mess. If you are approved to m5board.com as a member you should take your time to post a correct post, be friendly and do well thought out posts. There are other forums for people who don't wnat to put in an effort in their communication with other members. But here it should be about quality.
