M5 vs Brabus SV12

Friend of mine with M5 who live in South of Russia had an encounter with Brabus S-class SV12....

The owner of the car had no idea what engine or what HPs he's got....The only thing he knew it is the latest one from Brabus and emgine is more the 6.0Liters....

What a nice car inside comuters, Laptops, light shining when you open the doors....Beautiful car.....Price in Germany about $300.000.....The guy got it for $130.000....It was stolen one.....

We call these cat Insurance Autos....is when the thiefs agree with the owner of the car give him some money like 10-20k.....steal the car by the owner reports that the car was stolen in one week....By this time the car is in Russia registered on Russian number plates.....If you get caught then you can sort out the problem to make the car legal for 10-15k....There even a law...if within one year insurance does not claim the car ...then it becomes legal...

In Moscow you could have headage with it and there is too many policemanns that have computers and you can get caugt and will have some problems....

In othe regions in Russia is no probs at all....and everything costs much cheaper....

Anyway the cars like SV12 are specially ordered to be stolen and already have a potential owners....

I went too far from the topic...SV12 is 640Hp car....it has 1026 of torques...

He beat him far the start evwry time..and pulled away like a rocket.....I believe it does 0-62 in 4.4 whereas M5 is 5.3...

What was very funny that from the rolling start....M5 was on second, up to 200-210km (120-130miles)...M5 pulled aways....This was due to the automatic gearbox by the time it went 2 gears down...M5 was gone....

Although Icouold see it the back mirror that SV12 coming back strongly......But by this time the clear road finished....

This proves that natual aspirated engines (without any kompressors or turbos) and manual gear box best and respond faster when you put the feet down...

SV12 guy should of putted his gearbox into manual mode...then he would have a quicker response...and probably the outcome would of been different...

I wish the new m5 would had manual gearbox availible as an option...

Current M5 is steal one of the fastest sedans on the planet...

Hmm interesting story about cars and Russia. Very interesting.

Here is a S V12 Roadster vs a Ruf Turbo R (very fast):

Re: M5 vs Brabus SV12

Hmmm,
Sounds like your Buddy stole a previous gen SV12.(non turbo)
While the M5 is unquestionably the best overall sports sedan,in a straight acceleration contest against twinturbo SV12 it would be hopelesly destroyed,be it 0-30mph,0-60 or 0-150.(automatic vs manual notwithstanding)

Re: M5 vs Brabus SV12

People who steal cars or who generally steal deserve bad things to happen to them. If you want something nice then work at it like most folks do.

Right. SV12. Very nice car. Good story.

Re: M5 vs Brabus SV12

Even the police from what I've heard drives around in stolen cars. They find them and report it so the say to the insurancecompanies, but if they fail to collect it within 3 months the police impound the vehicels and use them to drive around in! They even have laws about this so that it's legal in Russia!!! Amazing country...

Definately not previous the 2003 model.....may be is was 6.1 not a compressor but then the M5 would be faster from the start as well.

O boy!!! We dont steal cars or anything else...But when you can get a car for half of the price or less.....Why not??? Especially when you can make it legal and the owner of the car wants it to be stolen so he can get his money back, plus he makes extra bucks on top....This is the real life....

Is Your family involved in insurance business??? then ...

Overall I agree with you...its not good to steal cars....I had 2 car stolen previously.....It not a good feeling....

All the best
